Bible Verses About Blessings: 20 Good Scripture Quotes

by Pamela Rose Williams on November 9, 2011 · Print Print · Email Email

We often go to God with our requests, but have you considered going to God to thank him for your blessings? A journal of blessings is a great way to accentuate the blessings that you see in your life. Sure it is easy to ask for blessings, but it is just as easy to be thankful for blessings. Try it, get a journal or a notebook and start recording one blessing a day. Each new day brings a new blessing — no repeats allowed. Here are 20 good scripture quotes about blessings.

2 Corinthians 12:10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Blessings of Heaven

Romans 5:6-8 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The Crown of Life

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Revelation 2:10 (KJV) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

The Victor’s Crown

1 Corinthians 9:25-27 (KJV) And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Crown of Glory (The Preacher’s Crown)

1 Peter 5:1-4 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

Crown of Righteousness

2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Crown of Rejoicing (Soulwinner’s Crown)

1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you?For you are our glory and joy.

Examples of Blessings for Obedience

Exodus 16:26 “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer.”

Deuteronomy 7:13 He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock, in the land that he swore to your fathers to give you.

Bible Verses About BlessingsJeremiah 7:5-7 “For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the father-less, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever…”

Zechariah 3:7-9 Thus says the LORD of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here. Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who sit before you, for they are men who are a sign: behold, I will bring my servant the Branch. For behold, on the stone that I have set before Joshua, on a single stone with seven eyes, I will engrave its inscription, declares the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day…”

Blessings in Disguise; Persevering Testing & Trials

Esther 4:14 “…For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Matthew 10:21-22 Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

James 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Sometimes blessings are disguised by trials. The Christian song writer Laura Story wrote a song during a time in her life when she wondered about blessings because God was not answering her prayers the way she wanted. Sometimes God gives us trials so that we can see the blessings in the end. I posted Laura’s “Blessings” song below, click on the play button and you can listen to it as you continue to read this article.

Unexpected Blessings Recorded

Genesis 50:18-20 His brothers also came and fell down before him and said, “Behold, we are your servants.” But Joseph said to them, “Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

2 Chronicles 1:11-12 God answered Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked possessions, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, and have not even asked long life, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself that you may govern my people over whom I have made you king, and knowledge are granted to you. I will also give you riches, possessions, and honor, such as none of the kings had who were before you, and none after you shall have the like.”

Luke 17:13 …”Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. (Jesus heals of leprosy)

Luke 24:30-34 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them.  And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” (after the Lord appeared to them on the road to Emmaus and they did not recognize the risen Lord)

Acts 9:17-19 So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized; and taking food, he was strengthened. (The conversion of Paul of Tarsus)

Wonderful verses Pam. Very inspiring. Its perfectly fitting that these are mentioned just before thanksgiving as we have so much to be thankful for…and I thank God for YOU! The Scripture that ends with “who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” makes me surely know that God’s sovereign hand brought you here to this site for such a thing as this (articles) and at such a time as this (2011-till Christ returns). :-)

I just cannot count all the blessings that I have. I think of the song; “Count your blessings, name them one by one,” but I am so blessed that I cannot count them one by one. I have to count them ton by ton. God has been so good to me. We are getting ready to have a women’s conference at our church and our theme is:Buttons, Bows and Blessings. I love my Lord and I know that if I had been the only one, He would have still went to that old cross just for me. I love Him with all my heart and I am blessed beyond measure. God is so good to me.

About two and a half years ago I became born again. It was the most wonderful life changing event that has ever happened to me. I think about how God was with me, protecting me even when I was deep in the world. Now I think of all of the blessings. Everyday is a blessing. Just knowing him is a beautiful joy in my life. Praise the Lord!

One way God blessed me? I was in a car accident November 8th, 2010, and was rushed to the Hershey Medical Center via the Life Lion helicopter. I was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury (Diffuse Axonal Injury), and was in a coma from 15 days because of the accident. God blessed me with the ability to graduate in-patient rehabilitation and out-patient rehab faster than the doctors predicted for me. The Great Physician healed me so that I could get back to a full schedule of classes at my high school, and now I’m in college at the moment. God is good.

Thank you Lord for this wondrfull website, reading through all the testimonies just made me realise that as people in Christ we expect so much material things and forget that by just waking up in the land of the living we have been greatly favoured. Our health, jobs, partners, children, shelter, food, happiness, love, fellowship, peace the list is long are all good favours from God and all this can not be bought.

I have just acknowledged God for all the great things in my life ” I’m graetly favoured”. Thank you Lord

God just blessed me with the most amazing thing: He anointed me to be the assistant youth director, a position that can help me touch young adults and kids in my area and around the world. It’s been a struggle, seeing all the teenagers my age around me depressed and so heartbroken. God gave me this responsibility to do His work!!! Praise the Lord!!! I cannot wait! It’s going to be a difficult road, but it’s surely going to be a beautiful one. :D I ask to be in your prayers, and brothers and sisters, you will be in mine!! <3

I am blessed for so many reasons. He wakes me up every morning and that in itself is a blessing. He allows me to use my limbs to workout and have a roof over my head and food on the table. When I lost my job back in 2009 and was in/out of jobs not lasting long, He always was there to lift me up and He continues to prove how great He is. He is always right on time when I need finances. He has never let me down and He is the best father anyone can ever have. Without Him in my life, I will never be whole. I love and thank you God for all that you do, have done and what’s in store for me. I praise you in every way that I can. God Bless You Father in Heaven! I Love You Soooooo Much!

Thank you so much for this article. I am 44 years old. In the past 10 years I have suffered the loss of both my parents, went through 3 brain surgeries to remove tumors only to have a tumor return within months. Long story short, I have a lot of medical problems. With that comes a lot of medical expenses. My husband and I are about to celebrate our 25 anniversary. Our first born son was born with a several serious heart defects and underwent two heart surgeries by the age of six.

Through all of this, I continue to praise God daily for my many blessings! God blessed me with a wonderful husband, my first born is now 21 years old and I have a very smart and talented 16 year old son. I can look around and see blessing all around. Your article and Laura’s “Blessing” song is my testimony!

My husband is struggling with seeing the blessings because he is worrying with finances. i pray daily that God can ease his mind and heart and give him peace. Please pray with me.
