This is an answered prayer indeed! I will check out their website; but I can’t help but wonder why the government hasn’t interfered with intolerance or racists accusations?! I guess I will find out once I visit the site! Thanks and God Bless! MJ

Hi Mabel,
Thank you for reading and commenting. I am sure glad I was able to send some encouragement your way. I learned a lot about this program myself. I really didn’t know much about it before doing the research for the article.
As to your comment about government interference, Medi-Share has been going since 1993, so there either hasn’t been any problems or Medi-Share was able to solve them. Either way, this sounds like a program that Christians should pray for. God bless you, Mabel.

You answered a question for me too on this Robert just as you answered a prayer for Mabel. This is an awesome thing and to see how much you researched it, it appears to be a good thing and something that reminds me of the church in Acts. Thank you for clarifying something that I myself had questions on sir. Well done.

Hi Jack,
Thanks for the comment, brother. As I did the research for this article (I really didn’t know much about it until now), I got the impression that it is a very thoroughly thought out venture. I read all the by laws and regulations and they seem to cover most possible scenarios. If I were looking at joining (I’m not right now, because my employer pays for most of my insurance) I would definitely do some more investigation. Although, it seems like if anything were not on the up and up, someone would have made it public by now. God bless you, Jack.

I live literally down the road from Christian Care Medi-Share’s office, and know many of the people who work there. The concept has its good points and its bad points. I am not sure how they are dealing with the Obamacare issues, or even if they have any such issues, since they are not insurance. The monthly payments can vary each month, but I know they are also well familiar with budgeting concepts set forth by people such as Dave Ramsey and Crown Financial.

I do know that the program is not available in at least 2 states, so do check the web site first. That shows that there have indeed been some issues with state governments in the past. In one case the issue was due to the state, not any issue with Medi-Share.

I will say from personal experience that going with them when you have employer-provided insurance is rarely financially sound. They can help, but medical facilities will not treat this as insurance, so you will not get any discounts on services. Another important point to make is that you will often have to pay up-front, as though you are uninsured (unless you are using Medi-Share to supplement insurance), and wait for reimbursement. This can be an issue for many. The extra monthly payments to Medi-Share, in addition to any insurance premiums you may be paying through your employer, can be a financial burden as well.

Thank you for this information, Joe. I’m sure that it will help those who are considering Medi-Share. God bless you.
