Tne Word of God doesn’t change lives. It’s the willingness of man to listen to it that affects the change

It seems to be a combination of God changing us because the Holy Spirit lives within us and is sactifying us, and ALSO our willing to want God to change us. With a willingness to work with God and not against Him (by wanting to do our own thing, for example), we grow much faster.

God never says in the Bible that we have to achieve all the Bible says on our own, He wants us to work with Him, Ely on Him, seek Him. So it isn’t your ability to change yourself, but your willing for God to intervene and change you, according to His word and thus will, in any particular area that you seek Him about.
