Great article.
The Bible teaches us to train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Instilling the word of God in the heart of a child is the best gift a parent can give to a child.

Absolutely! We should make every effort to make God’s word applicable to their everyday lives. By teaching compassion we also teach our children to put God’s word in action.

Love this my friend, especially the part with volunteering and with visiting grandparents (being one myself, perhaps a bit of selfish reasons). I believe more is caught than taught and your examples are spot on for being “caught” and being an example of being the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you. Well done.

Thanks Jack…my mother-in-law said the same thing. I often think about how I want to have a great relationship and communication with my future grandchildren so I try to set the standard in my kids.

Hi Crystal, I love, love, love the idea of dual gift giving. After all didn’t God give us the greatest gift ever on His Son’s birthday? Excellent idea. Great article too.

Thanks Pamela. God gets the glory for that idea! I mentor a lot of hurting kids and it’s amazing what one family can do to bring hope to another child.
