What would you say to someone who says “Well, He sounds selfish to me. Why would I believe in someone so selfish?”

Jack March 2, 2012 at 1:15 pm

Dear A-Christian. I know that deep down, we are all selfish. I wonder if this person is a Christian that is saying this. Also, who is this person that they are talking about being selfish? Either way, I would say that we can believe in God and the Word of God, the Bible, for God is the most giving of all and forgiving. If this person is holding a grudge over someone being selfish, then they are not being forgiving themselves. Let me know more so that I may answer you in a more comprehensive way. Hi sir Jack. First of all, I am Roman Catholic. This is the reason my attention minimized to the earthly things because…

“That if you confess your own mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) *I did this and confessed to our Lord Jesus Christ that I am a sinner, surrender mylife to Him, give thanks and worship Him sincerly.*

Peter said “Repent and be baptized…”

and Jesus said “……unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:8)

am I not saved? I am baptized when I was infant. I am of confusion now, I was thinking many times to leave my religion because of the doctrines and want to seek a Christian group that is bible-based.
Thanks and I hope you will read my post.

Hi Kevin. In the first place, let me explain that Jesus alone saves (Act 4:12) and that baptism comes after a person is saved but never does baptism save by itself. How can an infant repent from their sins (they have no idea what sin is at infancy) and confess their sins [1 John 1:9] (how can babies even know who or how to confess?, and to acknowledge their need for a Savior (Acts 4:12)? I find not one single infant baptism in the entire Bible. If you think you are saved by being baptized at an infant, then no, you are not saved by that. Read Romans 10:9-13 and also click on this link to know how to Come to Jesus to be saved and if you do, please, please let us know. Click on this Kevin:
