Another enlightening article with Scripture, Pastor Jack. Thanks to WCWTK’s other articles on the Book of Revelations and other Scripture passages pertaining to the ‘last days,’ I have a better comprehension of God’s Word.
Don’t recall if I read on this site, or somewhere else…but ONLY GOD KNOWS WHEN THE LAST DAYS WILL BE. Not His Son, Jesus, nor the Angels know. Did I get that right, Pastor?

Having a ‘falling-out’ presently with my favorite cousin, Sheila.
She’s a ‘born-again Catholic’ to use her words. Sadly, Sheila has become beyond fanatic in her beliefs, there’s no talking with her w/out HER losing HER temper! Whew~! It’s a beaut!
The latest ‘discussion’ we had 3 days ago had to do with the First Lady, Michelle Obama and her efforts to teach schools about good nutrition. Sheila also believes President Obama is
‘the evil one from the east.’ When I asked her to show me in the bible what she’s talking about, she just replied, ‘Look it
up yourself.’
I feel so helpless and dumb, Pastor Jack. My knowledge of Scripture is still not up to ‘par.’ Do you know what the hay Sheila means by ‘the evil one from the east?’
I’m not trying to win any arguments w/Sheila…but her fanaticism is causing a definite rift in our relationship. Have known Sheila all my life, she was born when I was 5.
Of course I’ll continue keeping Sheila in my daily prayers, but do wonder if I should be friends w/her. Friendly, yes…but not share my beliefs.
Would appreciate your knowledge (through The Holy Spirit, of course) about this, Pastor Jack.
In Christ, Jesus….Patty

Patty, I agree that you should still keep the relationship open but to be close friends with someone who thinks the First Lady is the evil one is a mystery to me. There are no Scriptures referring to her as this and we are to pray for our president, even if we don’t agree with him or the First Lady. I would say the only thing you can do is to pray for her because only God can possibly change this woman’s hard heart (Prov 21:1).

Thanks again, Pastor Jack!
(Sheila said PRESIDENT OBAMA was ‘the evil one from the east.’
Not the First Lady. Can see how you mixed them as wordy as I get…)
Sheila has changed so much since she became a ‘born-again Catholic about 12 yrs. ago. I hardly know her, and it makes me sad indeed. Of course I’ll continue to pray for her ‘hardened heart.’

Great article, Jack.
As usual, I am impressed with your transparency and thoroughness when tackling a subject as large as the endtimes. Thank you for including the fact that scholars interpret these verses differently. And also, the way you drew our focus back to Jesus, warning that too much focus on the details of these sometime confusing passages could distract us from our true focus, Jesus Christ. Thank you once again, Jack. You have shed light on some difficult areas and called us to a more dedicated allegiance to Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Robert

Jack Wellman February 15, 2013 at 10:32 am

As always my friend Robert, you are more kind to me than I deserve of which reminds me of the grace given to us. I appreciate your words. I claim to know nothing except that which was given to me by God and His Word, through the Holy Spirit and so to Him be all glory, honor, and praise.

Hello again, Pastor Jack! 😀 I have a question. Is it a sin to buy something on the Sabbath? Thanks, Jack H

Jack Wellman February 17, 2013 at 1:25 pm

Thank you Jack. If it is something you need and you don’t spend the whole day shopping, I don’t believe it is sin. I think that we are not bound to the Sabbath laws as they were written for Israel, however, we should give at least one day of rest to our bodies and assemble with the saints in corporate (church) worship. Did this give you a satisfying answer sir?

Jack February 18, 2013 at 4:15 am

Yes, your answer is perfectly satisfactory! 🙂 Thanks, but one more question. One of the Commandments say, Remember the Sabbath, keep it holy. I thought it meant work for sox days and rest on the Sabbath, but I have also heard that working on Sunday is not a sin. Could you clear up any confusion pls? Thanks, Jack H 😀

Jack Wellman February 18, 2013 at 10:59 am

Just to let you know we have an article that addresses the Sabbath and on which day it should be observed at:

http://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/should-the-sabbath-be-on-saturday-or-sunday/

Jack February 18, 2013 at 7:25 am

As a matter of fact, yais! 😀 One last question, though. One of the Commandments say, Remember the Sabbath, keep it holy. I thought this meant work for six days and rest on the Sabbath, but I recently learnt that working on Sunday is not a sin. Could you perhaps be so kind as to clear up any confusion? Thanks, Jack H

Jack Wellman February 18, 2013 at 10:44 am

Hi Jack. If a man has to support himself and/or his family by working Sunday, I see no conflict for we are commanded to provide for our family and for ourselves as well. I do not believe it is a sin for we can keep each day holy and as Paul wrote, one man esteems one day over another.

Thank you Mrs. McMullen. I am encouraged by your comments. All glory, honor, and praise belong to our Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mr. Wellman,

Armageddon = seat of unity
Many interpretation of “armageddon” in Revelations 16:16 refer to a physical place near Israel.
This is not correct.
It does not refer to a physical place but to a state, a condition, a seat of unity (a powerful unified belief).

armageddon….in Greek….αρμαγεδων

This word is a combination of two words…αρμα…..&…..εδω.
αρμα = unity
εδω = seat
Therefore, the true meaning of armageddon is the “seat of unity”.

Rev. 16:12-16
And it (three in one) (the dragon, the beast, the prophet) with one belief, with one strength, with one voice, as unclean spirits of demons, went forth to all leaders of nations doing signs so as to gather (assemble, unite) for battle, opposition, contention against the rulership by a (the) One and Only Son of Almighty God, Jesus Christ.

Christ says…Behold , I come as thief to take away, against man’s will, that which is most cherished by him.
Christ says…watch, be on guard, be ready that you are wearing the blessed garment that will be acceptable to the One God, for any other will be taken away, leaving you in the shame of your nakedness and rejection.

And it (the dragon, the beast, the prophet) will , through its “powerful belief”, raise, gather together the rulers and nations to the condition/state of a unified seat of belief…to a unified ruling way of life that all will embrace….which will cause all of mankind to confront, contend, and battle Christ as the One King.

Which belief does the most powerful country promote as the right way?
Which belief do all rulers and men embrace?
….Freedom of self will…the desire to serve and magnify oneself (XES).
Today this is advanced as freedom of rights, freedom of all religions.
….this belief, this seat, dictates that it is right to be free to worship any ‘god’.

Look….do you recognize the signs? If not, then you do not want to see.

It is Only Christ that will rule as the One King according to and in obedience to the One Will of the Creator, and not according to man’s 1st love for his “freedom”.

John Stefanyszyn,

I once had a pastor tell me to not believe anything he ever told me… To instead study and research everything to know whether it is the truth or not. I have seen the same exact post on two different sites that you posted.
I looked it up and I am having trouble finding the definitions you use for the word Armageddon. The words I found for unity are henotes and even enotita… but nothing close to geddon or Arma… I would be interested to know what you are using to get this interpretation.
You also quoted Revelation 16:12-16 as, “And it (three in one) (the dragon, the beast, the prophet) with one belief, with one strength, with one voice, as unclean spirits of demons, went forth to all leaders of nations doing signs so as to gather (assemble, unite) for battle, opposition, contention against the rulership by a (the) One and Only Son of Almighty God, Jesus Christ.” Again I went to the KJV and it reads a bit different… “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

Here we see the word Armageddon is not a proper Greek word but a Hebrew word Armageddon…. I would be very curious to know which version of the bible you are using?

I see you quoted scripture, “Christ says…Behold , I come as thief to take away, against man’s will, that which is most cherished by him.
Christ says…watch, be on guard, be ready that you are wearing the blessed garment that will be acceptable to the One God, for any other will be taken away, leaving you in the shame of your nakedness and rejection.” Again the KJV version is much different on both accounts…
No matter how valid a point might be if we are to quote scripture we should quote it without changing any part of it…
Rev 22:18-19, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

I am not condemning, I am merely curious as the where you have gotten this material.

Can a Christian have gem stones just for keeps?

Funmi January 17, 2014 at 1:50 pm

Can a Christian have gem stones just for keeps? Since its from God.

Jack Wellman January 17, 2014 at 1:58 pm

Thank you Funmi for your question. I see no reason why a person can’t have a gem stone to keep. I believe that accumulating wealth is wrong without sharing it with those less fortunate but what you say is not the same thing. I believe it is fine.
