Wow, another great article Pastor Jack,

You reminded us that no longer do we have to have a priest sacrifice Jesus weekly in a Mass (He is our “One time” sacrifice for sin), no longer are we required to offer animal sacrifices (our bodies are our sacrifice), no longer are we required to obey certain 6th day weekly Sabbath requirements (we who are His redeemed have entered His Sabbath rest, which is a continual forever position in Christ), no longer do we have to be burdened by the load of guilt and shame sin produces( He has “taken away” our sins, not merely covered them). I love how plainly the author of Hebrews spells out these facts, and how well you explained them!

Doc, your words, as always, are so encouraging. It took me about 3 months to go thru this book with expository preaching and I could have well taken 3 years. Thank you so much my brother for your words of encouragement.

Hi Jack Wellman i Want to Know about Hebrew 12:17 What Dose it Mean Not To Sell Your Birth Right I Read about It on Other Website But They All way Say That We Will END up At Hell For Selling It But I Don’t Know How To Sell It and I don’t Want to Sell it But They Say That if We Fall In to Sin Then we already Sold it But i Thought Salvation Is a Free Gifted all We have to Do Is Trust on Jesus Christ and Repent From Our Sin But Can You Explained this

Jack Wellman April 22, 2014 at 7:43 pm

Hello again Anthony. Hope you are well my friend. Hebrews 12:7 speaks about Esau who sold his birthright to Jacob for a meal. That means that he didn’t really care about it. His failure to repent means that he could have confessed this to his father Abraham but he didn’t and so it was lost. This does not anything to do with falling away or that a person can lose their salvation but it has to do with a person who fails to repent and lives in sexual immorality and those who slip up is not what this is talking about but the context of the entire chapter is about NOT losing your salvation. For example, don’t stop at or read only 12:17 but read the rest of the chapter and you’ll see its about a person staying saved. No one can ever take one verse and make it a belief system so that might be why you read this as a way someone can lost their salvation Anthony. Thanks friend.

Jack Wellman April 22, 2014 at 8:16 pm

No one’s faith is strong enough really but it is trust in God and not the strength of our faith my friend…but we can do all things thru Christ Who Himself will give you the strength you need (Philippians 4:13). I would lie you to talk to your pastor if you haven’t yet. You trust God! God cannot lie, Read John 6:67 & 39 and then John 10:28-29 and John 3:16-17 and then John chapter 6, 10, and 11 and see if you still don’t believe or trust God. Also Roman’s chapter 8. If you find it difficult then you are not alone. Jesus said the way will be difficult and the road to eternal life narrow and not everyone goes that way. Please know Anthony that I have been there and nearly every Christian that I know has had doubts before and so you are not alone my friend. Take heart and get into the Gospel of John. My advice is weak but my advice is always good when I direct people to the Word of God for the Bible says it is the power of God unto salvation and His Word never returns void (or empty) and will achieve what He purposes for it do to.

Jack Wellman April 22, 2014 at 9:04 pm

Thanks Anthony…I see you want to really love God and be in heaven and I can see no reason why you won’t be there. Please start reading John’s gospel and then Romans 8. I think these will really, really inspire you and give you some peace of mind my brother. I am going to pray for you. You repented and then you believe God…that means that you are already saved! Praise God and I thank God for you Anthony that he brought you here. You are loved my brother.
