I have definitely grown closer to God by fasting. Even though I haven’t done a whole day fast, I fast for breakfast and lunch, I know God is working in my life because he has lead me to a better place and he has changed the difficult decisions in my life into easy choices. I’ll have to work on doing a whole day fast. Thanks for the article.
Excellent post. Thanks for sharing that.
There is one thing I’d like to add to the elements you’ve offered, and I’m convinced it’s vitally important, but unfortunately very lacking.
That element is fellowship… communion (common union) with God’s people, and I’m afraid we Christians know very little about this dynamic, although we label many things as “fellowship”.
John wrote in 1st John, chapter 1:
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your[a] joy may be full.
He describes relationships toward God and the Son and toward other believers which is very “hands on” and “up close and personal”
Western Christianity tends to breed an individualistic walk with God, but Biblically, there must be genuine fellowship, also known as communion, between the people of God as well as with the Father and the Son.
i am happy to be able to asses as much information about my Heavenly Father, and the life given to all of us at the cross. Grace and mercy through faith in Jesus Christ. This is a website that keeps me studying, helps me to study, for my teaching and preaching the word of God. God gives me so much, and sends me to other of His messengers with guidance by the Holy Spirit , what is true of God. He said to me, tell what is true of Me, do so in love, and compel them to come. I must obey Him.
My first comment is above my information

I am a backslider and I need fellowship and a church to go to. Please pray for me as I know the Lord has a plan and purpose for me that I can do for His glory. Please pray that I can do His will for I have this fear (I rebuke it) of not being able to do things right, feelings of failure, etc. Please pray for I also have bad habits and continue to sin inadvertently. Thank you.
Hello Annette. You need to sit under good Bible teaching/preaching, Sunday school and Bible study just like I do, but please call your pastor and tell him and ask your church to pray for you as we are commanded to do (James 5:14) as we need one another (Heb 10:24-25) and seek to do what Jesus commands us to do (Matt 25:34-39) as we do it to Him (Matt 25:40) or we do nothing for Him (Matt 25:41- and that’s not good (Matt 7:21-23). I will pray for you but you must act as living the Christian life is not a solo act.
thanks for teachings
