i have been reading most of these quotes lately especially those about rejoicing on your struggles…..as humans, it is easy to condemn God sometimes for the hardships in our lives but it is much more bearable when we face those adversities with The Word because He always has a message for us regardless of the situation we are in…..thanks for sharing..

You’ve got some good references, Darryl, even for those who might pick at the context a bit. 😉

I’m a bit hesitant, though, to recommend 1 Corinthians 10:13 as a general “struggles” verse. The verse is often misquoted to indicate that “God will not give us more than we can handle.” The fact is, God *will* give us more than we can handle. That was the point behind Paul’s thorn in the flesh, as just one of probably hundreds, if not thousands, of examples. Even Jesus couldn’t handle the upcoming separation from the Father when He cried out in the garden of Gethsamene … couldn’t handle it, that is, without God’s strength!

Struggles do often come from our own mistakes, but sometimes they come from the mistakes of family members, and many times for no apparent reason at all. Job experienced that. The only reason we’re given is to glorify God in front of Satan (or to rub Satan’s nose in Job’s steadfast faith). Job didn’t even see that, as far as we can tell, this side of Heaven. The man born blind in the gospel of John didn’t sin, nor did his parents, yet he struggled with being blind from birth, all for God’s glory.

These articles/Bible verses are changing people’s lives. I thank you so much for your service to the Lord’s people. I’m sharing these with others who I know will be comforted upon reading them. Thank you, again.
