Purity comes only through suffering and trials. It can not be earned except by scars.

Hey Daryl,

I am currently reading a book called “The way of the Master” by Ray Comfort, and I have to tell you it is an eye opener! There really are an awful lot of preachers and ministers who teach the “Feel Good” gospel, there could be nothing farther from truth. These “Buddy Christ” type of people are going to lead more souls to hell than they are going to save. I find it absolutely amazing that this system is being used especially knowing just how bad it is. I have heard some say it doesn’t matter how you get people to believe as long as you do, as far as I’m concerned those people are doing a great disservice to everyone.
When ever I talk about my faith to those who are not saved as yet, I do my level best to be honest with them, it does no good when these people run into hard times that they will not only blame me, but will more than likely never even give Jesus a thought.

Hi Chris, I saw your comment come through just wanted to chime in to say that Ray Comfort has some great witnessing tools online too. Take a look at his site here: http://www.wayofthemaster.com/ I think you will find it one that you will want to bookmark. Thanks for sharing here in the comments. Blessings!

I really like those words of encouragement, thanks alot may the Lord continue using you.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Chris I agree with you assessment of what some preachers are doing these days. They are standing in front of congregations and giving a “feel good” talk that could be given not only to the church but also a local business meeting or any social gathering. Preachers of the Word of God must point us to the cross of Jesus Christ. Blessings.

Thank you for your comment, Pamela. The other night I asked the Lord to help me know what I can say about Jesus to someone I know I’ll never see again – someone in public, just for a few minutes. I checked out the link you shared and it really hit the mark! Thank you.

Thank you for letting God use you to write. At this time I am experiencing a trial. This is much needed.

Thank you for letting God use you to write this. At this time in my life I am experiencing a trial, but God’s love and grace is sufficient. This was much needed.

Thanks for this piece. It is spot on. That said, Ray Comfort preaches a false gospel. One that says we must turn from our sins ie forsake all sins and turn to God for salvation. But has he forgotten that the very reason why Jesus came to die for us is because we cannot fulfil the requirements of the Law?

Jack Wellman November 7, 2017 at 9:57 am

Hello Keke. Actually Jesus said the gospel includes repentance and faith so Mr. Comfort does indeed preach what Jesus preached (Mark 1:14-15) so to say he is preaching a false gospel is wrong. Even though God grants repentance (1 Pet 3:9), it must be repentance and faith. Jesus came to fulfill the law but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to obey it. He came to give His life as a ransom but Jesus Himself said, “Unless you repent, you will likewise perish” so Mr. Comfort is spot on.
