I like Gideon’s story best-It tells me that if God is really fighting the battle for us, He doesn’t need our strategies but He win all the same.

Thanks for that wonderful list… Just curious why you didn’t include Moses against the Amalekites when Hur and Aaron helped him hold his arms up. I reflect alot on that when i either feel the need of a christian sister to hold me up or God calls me to lift someone else’s arms.
Or, really my personal favorite, is the battle with Ahab against Ramoth-Gliead. It is really funny to read how Jehosaphat insists on hearing a man of the true God prophecy and when Micaiah does prophecy death and loss Jehosaphat seems to ignore this and he STILL goes into battle. Then he, like a dummy, allows himself to go into battle wearing the king’s robes while Ahab disguises himself (why did he align himself with Ahab who was an awefull, unGodly king??)…but through it all God protects Jehosaphat. Then Jehosaphat’s second battle against the Ammonites and the Moabites and that wonderfull, amazing promise God makes to His people (actually the same words almost that He used with Moses when leading the people out of Egypt) II Chronicles 20:17.

I was glad when i bumped into this sight, i was looking for the promises of God and when i found on this sight some ten of them and realized how much God’s word mean to him about us i had to stop and say thank you Lord.
Then you gave me a reminder with the 7 battles and i come to the conclusion that we loose what we have and still donot get anything from God because of our disobedience.

I was planning on preaching a series of sermons dealing with great battles in bible. Thank you so much for your help, because you provided for me the start that I needed. I am open to any suggestions for a name for this series.

It is the 100 year anniversary of ANZAC Day in Australia & New Zealand today. The massive loss of life from those wars are being remembered here and in the places where the terrible wars were fought over those 100 years.

As I reflected on how many people had died & the flow on into families & the areas terribly affected by those wars I thought of how in the Bible stories God “took care of things” when man put total trust in Him … Gideon – Judges 7-8:21, is a powerful example of what God can do when man trusts Him.

However, even though there would have been many “believers” fighting in the “modern day” wars plus many “believers” praying & interceding, it is highly likely that the commanders & decision makers were operating in the flesh, with no thought to “let us seek God’s guidance & encourage all our forces to put their faith in God!”

This same scenario is happening still … in wars & skirmishes & on our streets & between individuals, Man HAS NOT learnt the message from God as displayed in the battles in the Bible – the consequence … millions of people killed, maimed, terrible suffering … all because the majority of people look into the darkness instead of turning to look to the Light.

A few weeks ago after reading Ephesians 6:10-17 (putting on the full armour of God (the Holy Spirit), I then read verse 18 … a command that after the armour is on & the shield of faith is held high we are to (join our Lord Jesus & the Holy Spirit … Rom 8:27 & 34, in intercession for ALL the saints (for them all to put on the armour supplied & join the Body in intercession).

We are warned of things to come (& are already happening) in these end of the end times …. 2 Thess 2:3 Let no one deceive {or} beguile you in any way, for that day [the day of the Lord] will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition).
2 Cor 10:3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh {and} using mere human weapons.
2 Cor 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow {and} destruction of strongholds,
2 Cor 10:5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments {and} theories {and} reasonings and every proud {and} lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought {and} purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), …. note to WHOM we are to lead every thought & purpose.

Amen…the enemy is ramping up my friend. I wonder if Satan knows when the end is getting close?

Your principle of seven battle is sound but the one chosen are not correct. The seven MUST follow the principle of combat in that the battle causes one side to lose or the other TOTALLY on some section of God Kingdom. There are Seven named in the Bible that do just that and are very accurate for Combat Battle Report. Let me give you the Seven that fit this principle and Evil and Satan lose TOTALLY in all. 1. Genesis one, 2. Noah 3. Mt. Siani 4. The Cross 5. Armageddon 6. Gog and Magog 7. The Throne (Light) of God. These Seven are total and Evil loses totally every time. The last is the Judgement of God evidencing Good and Evil, Point: You can not battle God and win. Satan lost Totally at the Cross. There is a lot more to this including the Image of Daniel that is 90 feet tall and 9 feet wide opening with Gold and ending in Clay and iron. Exactly how it fit God’s plan. Note also this year we have found the 10th Planet for our solar system making our system and the 10 Commandment match in the same order as it points out the Throne of God. Now you have evidence that God is God and the issue if Faith.

I loved reading about these battles & am trying to check out something that’s stuck in my mind (like one of those tunes you remember but can’t say what it’s called) the bit of info’ I have is someone is in a battle & people are falling to the right of him & the left but he’s still standing unhurt & now I’m trying to remember which battle this is. Anyone got any clues that can pin point me to the section in the Bible?

Hello Roz. I believe you are referring to Psalm 91. Hope this helps.

Thank you Jack Wellman, as I was starting to go thru’ the Bible to see if I could find it, & was still a long way off at Joshua. You have lightened my soul with the Answer, Thank you once again.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The battle is not my it belongs to God Almighty.

Sandile M Simelane March 29, 2020 at 1:27 am

This is so great I love your cite so much, I saw it when I wanted to encourage the church about corona virus whereby in my country only 20 people are allowed in a service, and there was fasting and prayer for the whole nation. Hey the battle is not ours but for the Lord. Amen

laura brooke October 10, 2020 at 11:42 am

I’m going to study these 7 battles. Take notes on the details that stand out to me and make some type of presentation because when I make a presentation and a visual it sticks for me
Thank you for the time you invested in this article
God bless you
