May God be given all glory! I feel very revived because somehow i thought God had forgoten me or probably angry with me for some reason, but after reading here i can see that indeed God is with me always and He has brought me this far not to leave me. As God has promised ‘…and your days of sorrow will end. Isiah 60:20. Thank you very much Pastor Deryl…

In my searching for truth and understanding of The Holy Spirit, God showed me in a dream (check my blog) how The Holy Spirit works
John14:16-17, ‘And I will ask the father, and he will give you another counsellor to be with you for ever- 17 The Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

I have to say, I really love this site! It’s nice to find a Christian blog site that is encouraging and uplifting, instead of condemning.

In relation to this article, I certainly try to keep an eye out for signs of God’s protection in my life. An example would be back in July, when my fiancee and I–along with her family and a mutual friend–went down to Ocean City, Maryland for the 4th of July. We were a few minutes late leaving my dad’s trailer, where we were staying, and I believe that few minutes was God’s intervention, for on our way into the city we came across a pretty bad car accident. Judging by the fact that no emergency vehicles had arrived yet, I figured the accident couldn’t have happened all that long ago. I firmly believed at that time (and still do) that God had something to do with our delay in leaving so that we would avoid getting involved in this accident.

Just figured I’d share that story.

I am glad that I am in contact with you. However, I ask that you send me some Bible Correspondent Courses so as to help build up my spiritual life.

Daryl Evans,

May the almighty God continue lift you higher and higher in all your endeavours in Jesus Name. Our God is able to deliver and save those who Trust in Him. Glory to God in the highest

I was just wondering I know gods protection is always there but why is it when we do good deeds for example I work to help kids in poor countries I deal with the vandelism and cursing the good things that are being done in the glory to god. Just want know why. Been feeling down about that kind of being under attack.

Jack Wellman December 17, 2014 at 8:37 pm

I am so sorry Natalia. God has never promised protection from all evil and those who curse the good things. We must trust God to avenge all evil. He will someday. Feel sorry for those who do those things and pray for them for their eternal fate will be so terrible that it cannot even be described (Rev 20:12-15).

Abi September 22, 2012 at 3:19 am

Does God protect all the time? or just sometimes?
My mother had cancer when I was ten/eleven. We prayed for it, it went, we thanked God he had made it go.
But now (6 years later) it has come back.
What does this mean? Does God want her to have cancer? Does cancer just happen to come, and then happen to go (or not), depending on things like your immune system but separate from God, in which case was it really God who made it go?
If God is in control does that mean he made it come, does he like inflicting pain?
Did he make it come so we could ask him to make it go, to show us his power? Where is the love in that, that’s like people coming and splattering your car with mud and then asking for you to pay them to clean it because it is dirty!!
Sorry for so many questions, I’m just trying to understand. I hope you can help.

Robert February 13, 2013 at 7:38 pm

We must remember that we live in a fallen world, a world in which the effects of sin are devastating. God has no pleasure in our painful experiences, but we must realize that we will all die some day (if Jesus doesn’t come back first) and sickness is found many times on our journey through life. God never promised to heal every illness we may face, but He did promise to go with us through our trials and troubles. Our response to illnesses and troubles is up to us. We can either turn to God in trust or we can let our situation push us away from Him. There are many great Christians whose trials, tribulations, and/or illnesses were what pushed them into a closer walk with God than they would have known were it not for those hardships. The Bible is clear that God loves us deeply, enough to send His Son to endure the most painful death imaginable for us. We should remember that the apostle Paul, who suffered immense persecution (and finally death) for his faith in Jesus, said “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us” (Romans 8:18 ESV). You and your family will be in my prayers.
Yours in Christ,

Char May 17, 2015 at 7:53 am

Abi, Jesus gave many examples of healing. Know one can know why your mother’s cancer returned just as my aunt battled it 3 times when it finally took her life at a young age of just 50 when most in my family live to their late 80s.

We live in a fallen world that God warns us will get worse.

Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” John 5:14

In this the man was sinning.

Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. John 9:3

In this there was no sin but there was a purpose that displayed God’s power through Christ so people, including the blind man, would believe, which was far more important than sight.

And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:29

This took much prayer and fasting. Jesus was continually in prayer.

And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. Luke 17:17-19

This one who returned to worship was not just cleansed but made whole. His body eaten by leprosy was restored as if he’d never had leprosy.

There are other examples. We may never know which may apply. But I’ve known of people dying, who kept such faith and joy that doctors and nurses were moved to believe and thereby the works of God were displayed.

While we may feel that’s not loving, we need to realize God loves all equally. If anyone has been touched by your mother’s struggle and faith, then a soul saved to live eternally is better than a life ending on earth to be eternally happy with Christ, even though it’s hurts because of our loss here.

Another possibility I’ve considered at times is what if a person’s faith were to weaken and die out down the line and God takes them before that could happen? Isn’t their eternal life more important than this temporal life which will end regardless at some point?

I pray one of these brings comfort no matter the outcome as this was posted over a year ago. I pray your mother was again healed, but if not, I pray you found strength through whatever happened.

@Abi:whe we are in pain we smtimes doubt GOD. But we all know deep down in our heart that GOD does not have to prove Himself He is GOD.
May GOD meet us at the points of our needs.

Felix Morgan December 12, 2012 at 12:15 am

I am really blessed with what I saw on this site. Here I discovered more new promises of God and see reasons never to give up on him.
Pastor, may God continue to bless you for allowing him use you this way in Jesus name Amen.

Ann December 18, 2012 at 1:54 am

I really like the Bible verses you have chosen 🙂 But I think when God says he will protect us from evil – he means that he will not let evil destroy the Spirit of God that is in us, even though we may be “carrying our cross” – i.e. we may suffer physical and mental and emotional afflictions. This is what the verse means: “Even though you walk through the valley of death, you shall fear no evil” – though evil (situations and people and diseases) may surround us God will walk us through it leaving our hope for an eternal life and love for Him unscathed

I was looking for some encouraging verses for my situation. I have been prophesized to all my life. I am currently going through a lot right now and need a miraclous blessing from the Lord. Its is hard not to have fear the outcome of situation. I would like a more spiritual walk with God. Please help me to grow in his word, spirit and heart.

Trust God. He will never disappoint. He promises that He will supply all our needs if we rely on Him (Matthew 6:25-34). God bless you.

I have been struggling to overcome my sins. I am an active churchgoer, however,I have not received Christ as my saviour.I rarely prayed as I continued to sin. Please pray for my spiritual recovery and I need His Guidance.I have been solving my problems all by myself but never prayed.

Kayla April 14, 2015 at 10:29 pm

I’m sure you’ve been told by now but I want to make sure.
Receiving God is the FIRST step. You will never overcome your sin on your own! Obviously you believe in God. Just let him take over. Find some wise Christian counsel and grow.

Lucy Scoon February 6, 2013 at 9:07 pm

Ephesians 6:7-8 encourages us to, ‘serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

God is a good and faithful God. We live in a world where it seems that everything around us was placed there to destroy our spirit. I thank God for sites like this that reminds me that God was, is and will always be. I feel refresh.

FIona March 29, 2013 at 1:11 pm

My son inlaw Luke is in South Korea, I wanted verses to share with my daughter about Gods protection. He just went over in April and it seems as though things just keep looking worse since he got there. We keep praying for him and our country and remembering that God is in control of every situation and Satan only has the leaway God permits him to have. ..All things work together for good and God has Luke there for a reason and I know he is under the wings of our Almighty GOD….Thanks for these verses…

mugambi April 9, 2013 at 3:45 pm

Hi.I too appreciate your good work.
Please help me to get rid of sexual sin which haunts me alot.

Jack Wellman April 9, 2013 at 4:25 pm

Hello my friend. I can not help you overcome or rid yourself of your sexual sin but there is One Who can. We can do all things thru Christ Who will strengthen us…of ourselves we can do nothing. Please check out this article below on how to overcome sexual sin. I pray it helps you my friend. Don’t lose heart. The very fact that you want to overcome this shows me that the Holy Spirit is convicting you of this sin and its a great sign you want to overcome it.

I really thank God for his direction to location this site.

Ailsa June 27, 2013 at 3:34 am

Thank you for such helpful, emboldening verses.I have on my heart a propting, which i think is of God to “plant” scriptures as part of a prayer walk with my home prayer group around a troubled estate where a Christian presence is growing. Also around our small town center where there is a spiritual Church and wicca shop. We will put verses around the estate and town center and let other Christians know that the verses are there to encourage them and help them to pray mindfully as they go about every day business.
I think we all to often forget that our Saviour is so powerful, big, able to save and protect and also forget we have a powerful tool against the dark forces in our world in the for of the sword of truth which is the word of God. Thank you again for such a comprehensive and encouraging selection – God bless.

I really have to say this web site is truly a blessing and helped me out a lot because my mom encourages me to spend more time in the bible outside church and home devotions. So instead of blindly searching through verses this website gave me a base to learn what promises God has to offer us. Lately I’ve presented what i learned here to my mom and my little brother and I feel God’s word surging through me and being only 15, I feel good knowing that i can have a better appreciation for God and a better bond with him too. So i thank you.

I had a very bad dream and need God’s word of protection and this site has just done that instead of me looking through the bible with no clue. I know my God is so loving and protects me from evil and itS my prayer that I be the faithful child that he wants me to be.

Martha July 27, 2014 at 8:44 am

I have been seeking for some answers..I go to church every Sunday and as you can see on your website. If God protects you from harm how come he didnt protect my 20 yr old son from those evil hands whom took his life? I feel like i am in a living nightmare! He had a whole future ahead of him. Please somebody tell me.

Jack Wellman July 27, 2014 at 12:38 pm

Hello Martha. I am so sorry for such a tragic loss and great pain you are going thru. God protects us, yes, but never promises to keep us from all harm but perhaps God wanted your son to be with him forever and in eternal joy and bliss. No one in heaven would want to trade places by going back to earth. Job himself lost all his children, all his possession, and all he had, including his friends and never received a “why” for the reason. I cannot answer what God alone knows. I am sorry that you have endured this. I myself lost a baby once and it was so hard but I know that my trust in God is greater than my grief was then (and still is) but I know I will see him again someday.

Palmer August 14, 2014 at 10:40 pm

Just want to praise God for his goodness and his mercy!! My son was in an accident today, no one was hurt and all of the glory goes to God for his guiding hand and protection on my son and the person in the other vehicle.

Paula Savai August 15, 2014 at 10:22 am

Thank you for the word of god

Abby August 25, 2014 at 12:49 am

Thank you a thousand times, Daryl. These verses comforted me beyond words.

Jack December 8, 2014 at 4:22 am

So sorry for your loss Martha, I too lost a brother 10yrs ago (he was 16yrs old then) I know pain that comes with such tragedy, but I’ll suggest you hold on to God and ask him for strength, Martha trust me, God is never wrong.
Sorry once more and God bless.

I thank God for his word that keeps and protects us. He shields us even from dangers unknown and from bad dreams, I pray him to cover us with his precious blood and be our comforter in our down moments. Cover my family with the blood of Jesus and that may our lifes be a reflection of that of your chosen people. Thank you Daryl for this site and the wonderful inspiration. May God continue to grant you favour in Jesus’ name.

Melissa February 25, 2020 at 8:34 am

I believe God is good and he will help us walk through our hardships. But knowing we live in a fallen world, and God gives every person free will to inflict evil upon others, what is the point of praying for protection when evil can strike at any time? I feel haunted by the fact something horrific could happen to my family at any time, and there is nothing I can do to prevent it. I know God won’t abandon me, but I struggle with praying for protection as evil is inevitable in this world. I wish I felt comfortable in these scriptures.. Thanks

Jack Wellman February 25, 2020 at 9:04 am

Hello Melissa. Talk to your pastor about this. You are ranking your feelings above Scripture or God’s Word. You know God and what He promises, so do you believe your feelings more than God’s Word? The world cannot touch you (Jhn10:28-29). Reading the Word of God every day will really help you, but I would still call your pastor.
