I am indeed grateful for the grace of God toward you.
Am so blessed with the children’s songs, GOD bless you abundantly
Thank you for this information. Especially the connection of the songs sung by enslaved Americans to call and response. I would also like to comment on the rendition of Deep River. I did not recognize the melody line at all. My personal frame of reference, as it is for those of us who sang at all Black schools, learned it as it was written.
My need to write this is not derogatory as I am glad for the information. I just don’t want this example to misrepresent the history of the song. For some people this will be their only contact with this portion of Black History.
My Dad sang a song back in the late 30’s or 40’s that I’m trying to locate the lyrics. A few lines from it are: Mama’s in heaven they’ve taken her away, left Jim and I here alone. We came here to stay to the breaking of day for we have no mother or home. The sexton came early to ring the church bell and found them beneath the snow, white.
I think the song is called “Two Little Orphans”. Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers made a recording of it.
We are looking for the song: I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES – keep on singing? Do you have or or where can we get it please?
I am looking for a source nag: Lover of God’s Children. Can you let me know where to find it?
OK, so I have searched and searched for this song I sang in church as a child so I am putting the lyrics on here. Does anyone else know it… I’m a little missionary, I tell the world about him. Jesus Christ who died upon the cross to save us from our sins. Mother do you know my Jesus? Have you been born again? Father if you’ll only trust him, he’ll save you from your sins
Beautiful content, congratulations
I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus,
Since I found I in Him a fried as strong and true,
I would tell you how He changed my life completely;
He did something that ho other friend cold do..
CHORUS
No one ever cared for me me like Jesus,
There’s no other friend as kind as he.
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me,
Ohm How much He cared for me
All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me.
All my heart was full of misery and woe
Jesus placed his strong and loving arm about me.
and He Led me in the way I aught to go
(Chorus)
ev’ry Day he comes to me with new assurance,
But I’ll Never know just why He came to save me,
Till some day I see His blessed Face above,
(Chorus)
HALLELUJAH by Leonard Cohen!!!
