Thanks so much that was a great one. You are indeed a candidate of Heaven. God bless you.

Thank you so very much for explaining in detail, with documentation from scripture, the simple meaning of this verse pertaining to works and salvation! Some unfortunately misunderstands this verse pertaining to working out your own salvation!

Thank you so much Helen. I am glad this helped. You are encouraging.

I heard an elder at my church this past Sunday stat that, “it is possible that a person’s spirit can saved and in heaven while the person’s body is burning in hell.” This blew my mind. I said to myself, “this can’t possibly be true.” This would seem to say that Christ’s work on the cross was insufficient to save us entirely and we have to work to save our bodies ourselves. Can you please elaborate further on this topic? Thank you!

This is absolute heresy. Some cults believe that and it sounds like the Catholic Purgatory (which does not exist). I am troubled by this comment and as a pastor of many years, and have a master’s degree, this is not in the Bible and this man should not be saying such things. Works cannot ever save us (Eph 2:8-9). I woiuld speak with the pastor about this comment. This is not biblical at all and there is zero evidence in Scripture to suppor this elder’s belief.
