I needed to read those verses this morning ( 16/5/2019) Im experiencing a trial by fire and its not pleasant or enjoyable. BUT what i am realising in my heart ( which i knew already in my head, but the connection was not being made) was that ONLY Our Lord can deliver me out of my trial. My trust is in Him alone and not in humans, because who else can understand the workings of man and see all things other than Him.

Thank you Lord for saving me and for placing this trail in my life so that i may be drawn closer to You.

Amen

The word of God is a language which the carnal mind can’t comprehend. Thanks for the highlighted Scriptures.

Hello, Christian friends today marking my first day of coming close to God, I am asking beloved brother to pray for me to
do as he wants me to live.

Now I know that Christ Jesus is coming very soon, yes others been saying the same thing but for me, yes.

let us pray strongly don’t be fools by the world thing.
listen to this my workmate was able to move to the USA many feels good but is this the way of God?

Steve Postier January 8, 2020 at 4:06 pm

I heard someone say something like “do not strive for something you’ll never be able to keep, and miss something you’ll never be able to lose”
Can you tell me if it is from the bible and where? And if it is not, can you tell me the correct wording and who said it. Thanks.

Jack Wellman January 8, 2020 at 4:17 pm

Hello Mr. Postier. That saying is not int eh Bible but from Jim Elliot who said “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” What a powerful statement indeed.

A verse in the Bible that closely parallels that is

Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Many blessings Jack Wellman for posting about God’s promises.
