Hi David
These are all great stories, told with enthusiasm, but I’m not sure redemption is the right to link them. The New Bible Dictionary defines redemption as “deliverance from some evil by payment of a price”. Salvation or Deliverance might be better word to use, although the account of the clay on the potter’s wheel doesn’t seem to fit.

Perhaps you can re-work this article I’m sure God will bless as you think about his word.

As stated in the intro of the article in the 3rd translation, a price has been payed. Just not by us…

In addition to these redemption stories there is also:

Passover where the sacrificial lamb redeems the people in the household. Exodus 12
Boaz, who faithfully discharged the duties of the kinsman redeemer – Ruth 4
Jesus Christ who sacrifice redeems those who choose to accept it The Passion, summarized in Titus 2:14

I am really in search of story from the bible about redemption and i found thus article. I am making a series about salvation and had topics using different words like, adoption, justification, deliverance, new birth and now redemption. I think Sams view in his comment above is the same as mine. Redemption focuses on possessing something thru purchase or exchange and i find the stories above seem unfit. Brother, i mean no offense and its just my personal view.

Hello Roger. The Bible is clear that ” ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Pet 1:18-19) and in Christ “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Eph 1:7). Galatians 3:13 says “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” And even in ancient Isreal, redeemed is mentioned almost 50 times! Like Exodus 15:13
“In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation.” And no offense taken. Hope there is none taken with you sir over our response.

And elsewhere….

Luke 1:68
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people

Galatians 3:13
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—

Revelation 14:3
and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

Revelation 14:4
It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb,
