This is a helpful and informative article.
I am pleased to hear that you do an occasional foot washing at your church. I have yet to have that experience in a church setting, and have only done it once, on my own, outside of a church setting.
Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you sir. It is a very humbling thing for both those who do it and for those who receive it. I appreciate your encouragement sir.
I like your writing so much, that I searched for your church on the internet. I was lead to: http://www.brethrenchurch.org/ Where I found a Centennial Statement: http://www.brethrenchurch.org/about-us/brethren-beliefs-booklet I really like this document. It is so in tune with what I believe! I wish there was a Brethren church near where I am right now. I would love to visit one! Maybe I will make it to Kansas some day! God willing, that would be great 🙂
You are so kind sir. The Mulvane Brethren Church (Mulvane, KS) is just southeast of Wichita a few miles. You know you would be most welcome and even though we are the smallest and poorest church in our city (I draw no salary, being a bi-vocational pastor), we do evangelize, have a local nursing home ministry, a prison ministry and other things which I think shows that God sometimes uses the small numbers so that He is more glorified. We are tiny in comparison to other churches so I hope you won’t be disappointed by size m brother. Anyway, thank you for such encouragement sir.
I love small churches 🙂 I will pray to be connected with you at some point. Please send me an email at: jim at growing faith dot org so I can have your contact information in case God sends me to Kansas. I admire what you are doing, and I’m sure it is very pleasing to the LORD 🙂
Thanks brother…you are so Barnabas-like. I will email you and we both know that God deserves all glory and can use a man with feet of clay to bring His glory to others and even a train-wreck like me.
