I don’t know how to put it but to my understanding children are gifts from God.
Now chapter 42:verse 10 of NIV and KJV tells us God promises Job to be restored his fortunes and give him twice as much as he had before.
So if you say Job had 14 children that’s will be as per the bible but if you go as per the simple english meaning for “twice” he should have owned 30 children. Seven sons and three daughters from as from chapter 1:2 of NIV and you then add twice the one God promised to restore which is 20 making the total 30 children.

Job has 10 children, lost them, but they are not lost forever. They are waiting for him in the kingdom. God never said he doubled the number of childrne but that happened too. 10 plus 10 is 20. That’s doubled. I guess your confused by his next to last paragraph. He is saying that “you could say that Job had 14 sons and six daughters. However, with the loss of the first ten and replacement by ten more we can learn more from the story,” and that’s true because his children are not dead who died. God is the God of the livign and not the dead. I am sorr you didn’t like the article but found only problems from it.

Who’s to say His children didn’t have children. I mean forgive me for imagining a thought but it really is an absolute blessing to have grandchildren. I’m not a grandfather yet but i mean we all know how joyful grandparents are. Its a second chance to raise children with a greater understanding. with more wisdom and love and mercy and grace. I mean i’m no doctor but i’m pretty sure that many pregnancies would take a great toll on a woman’s body. Either way i totally enjoyed this. Breakfast was good and thank you for serving it. GOD BLESS YOU SIR

Good point Mr. Legon.

It’s simple.
The first 10 are waiting at The Resurrection.
No one is ever LOST.
GOD knows where every single Soul He created is.
Ezekiel 18:4-9 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: -GOD speaking.
You know the word “PERFECT” in context with JOB, just means MATURE, only CHRIST is PERFECT.
Even JOB mentioned what His failure was…

Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

FEAR is the opposite of FAITH, but has The same result.
JOB had FEAR, and that is WHY GOD allowed Satan to test JOB.

Thank you Mr. Sulli. Good explanation about Job’s children….waiting at the Resurrection for him…and now, waiting no longer for they now see their father Job again.

We must see this through Eternity…yes,Job lost his first 10 children, but only to death of the flesh…they, just like Job and his other 10 children, are now in heaven…where Job has his doubled amount of 20 children forever….
