God’s Amazing Conversions Through Dreams and Visions – Part Two

God can use many ways to reach the lost, including dreams and visions. Here are a few real examples.

Many Hardships

God can use many ways to reach the lost, including dreams and visions. One of the most amazing accounts is from a man that told us his dream drew him to Jesus but it cost him dearly at first. Even so, he said, “My family rejected me. I went to various churches and learned about the Word of God. I also followed many Bible courses and eventually went into Christian ministry. Now I have had the joy of seeing many people come to the Lord and accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Thanks to the Lord, I am now married and have a Christian family. My wife Khalida and I are involved in the work of the Lord and have been able to share the miracles God has done in our lives. Even though it is not easy and we face many hardships, we feel like Paul who went through hardships and suffering for the glory of his Savior, Jesus, who himself suffered during his walk on earth and his time on the cross. We thank God the Father for sending his Son to this earth and giving us free, eternal life through him. Likewise, we thank God for his Spirit who encourages us day by day to live for him.”

Despite the hardships, this man’s dream of Jesus brought him to hunger for more about the Savior, and thereby, he was saved.

Abdulrahman’s Dreams

One man’s dream or vision (he could not be sure) amazed me and it eventually led him to faith in Jesus Christ. Please note that his English is not great, but it doesn’t matter. He contacted us and with this message:

“I am Abdulrahman Ghamdi Greetings Faith in the News, I’m a Qurani Muslim, i respect christianity, i read the Old Testament before many years…however, i had dream last night and its really strange, i dreamt of me in desert alone and i was starving. A long walking alone and i found someone with planty of food and drinks but i couldnt reach him cause he was surrounded by many people, But they let me pass and called me “lucky” i didn’t understand but they were pointing at my chest , when i take a look at what they were pointing at, i found a very huge cross tattoo in my chest. And i felt so happy and warm inside , and i had this feeling like i wasnt muslim in that dream. So my question is, “can someone in christianity feels like that in his sleep? And what does it mean?”

Importance of Supporting Missions

We answered this man’s questions and he later repented of the Islamic faith and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. Was this a case where this was the only way God could reach this former, devout Muslim because the Islamic population was about 97%? Who knows, but with God, we know all things are possible. I believe God would move heaven and earth to reach one soul that was truly seeking to know Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. I’ve read about this happening so many times where God uses a dream or a vision to reach someone and then they start to hunger for access to a Bible. God is God. He does as He pleases. Where there is no one there to share the gospel, the gospel finds a way through the ways and means of God. I stand in awe of our wondrous God.

Muslim Nations

Here is a man who is also in a predominantly Muslim nation and city and he wrote:

“I am a Christian or I want to be a Christian. My name is Mahmoud Hosny Mahmoud Rashed , from Egypt , and I work as a doctor . I want to convert to Christianity instead of Islam. I said this to some people from my family and some close people, but I was subjected to insult, violence and threats, and my wife also left me for this reason. There is no religious freedom in Egypt. If a person leaves Islam here, he is threatened with death even from his family. Muslims believe that whoever leaves Islam should be killed. The Egyptian government does not protect anyone who wants to convert to Christianity and does not allow him to change his religion to Christianity in his official papers. I feel very scared and frightened to even go to churches here because the Egyptian security prevents anyone who is written on his ID that he is a Muslim, and being subjected to violence and threats. Christians in Egypt are also afraid of helping those who convert to Christianity, because of the persecution of those who leave Islam and those who help them. I am also afraid of even trying to change religion in my official papers because of this persecution. Please help and save me.

Thank you very much ,
Mahmoud Hosny Mahmoud Rashed”

We prayed for this man and his family and for access to other brothers and sisters. I hope you will pray for him too.

Counting the Cost

Here is a heartbreaking experience of a new believer who came to know Christ through a dream. He wrote the following to us.

“Im a Qurani Muslim, i respect christianity, i read the Old Testament before many years

However, i had dream last night and its really strange, i dreamt of me in desert alone and i was starving
And i felt so happy and warm inside , and i had this feeling like i wasnt muslim in that dream

So my question is, “can someone in christianity feels like that in his sleep? And what does it mean?”

Of course, we pointed him to Jesus Christ and the message of the cross and he was saved. What joy to hear of such a work of God.

Faith over Fear

Another example is from a man named Muhammad. He wrote, “My name is Muhammad. I live in Qatar. I wanted to know why I was having a dream about Jesus. He stood in a boat and waved to me to come to Him. I looked for dreams and visions on the Internet and found one. Then, I asked a man on a website (WhatChristiansWantToKnow) what this dream of Jesus means.

He told me it could be from God and that God may be calling me to Jesus. I wanted to believe but had fear, but after knowing why Jesus came, I wanted Him and He is my Savior now. He loves me so I do not practice Islam any more. Now, I want Jesus alone. I know this dream was from Him, so thank you to your website, I know Jesus more and why He called me.

Godly love, Muhammad.”

The Empty Tomb

One man contacted us and said he had this dream: “I wanted to prove to my non-Muslim friends that I can prove the Qur’an is God’s Word and not the Bible so I set the Qur’an on fire, and it burned before our eyes. Then I attempted to do the same with the Bible. As soon as I tried, the Bible struck my chest, and I fell to the ground. Smoke surrounded my body. I was burning, not physically, but from a spiritual fire. Then suddenly I saw a man with golden hair at my side. He was wrapped in light. He placed his hand on my head and said, “You are my son and from now on you will preach the gospel in your nation. Go! Your Lord is with you.” Then the vision continued, and I saw a gravestone, which had been removed from the tomb. Mary Magdalene spoke to the gardener who had taken the body of the Lord. The gardener was Jesus himself.”

It was after this dream that he contacted us and wanted to know more about Jesus, but my question in all of these messages is this: How did they all seem to know that it was Jesus. Like us, they had never seen Jesus. They had very little knowledge of Him beyond the fact He was considered a Prophet (We know He was “the” Prophet that was to come. Duet 18:15-20). The vast majority of these experiences seem to include things like, knowing it was Jesus, seeing and feeling a soft or warm (and sometimes bright) light, and an overwhelming sense of peace and love. Sounds just like Jesus, doesn’t it?

Conversion

After this dream, the man said, “I went home and I told my parents about this dream, but they did not believe me. They thought the Christians had me under some magic, but I told them that everything had happened before my very own eyes and that many people were watching. They still did not believe me and kicked me out of my home, refusing to accept me as their family member. I went to a church close to home; I told them all about what had happened. I asked them to show me the Bible. They gave me the Scriptures, and on that day, February 17, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior.”

Conclusion

Not every dream is a message from God since they are so random as to be impossible to tell and we need to be clear that everyone must be brought to repentance and faith in Christ. No one can be saved by having a dream or vision. It takes the Word of God and the Spirit of God to birth a child of God, but faith comes by hearing and not by dreams. Will you be that person by whom they will hear? We can’t depend on our friends, neighbors, or co-workers to have a dream or vision. We must go to them and tell them about Jesus.
