I’m realy blsd by this deep search. God bless you mightly.

Rev.Dr. Sushil Singh October 10, 2012 at 6:41 am

Thankyou for your writings about American Christian Heritage and Christian Presidents. In this time of lots of non christian philosophy’s attack on US, we need to pray more and more for the christian values in USA. It seems, US is now part of the mission field. God save America.

Tina October 10, 2012 at 8:28 am

Very interestd.

Josh October 10, 2012 at 10:16 am

Great work here Pam. I really enjoyed reading through this and learned a lot.

Jack Wellman October 10, 2012 at 8:05 pm

Abraham Lincoln is perhaps my favorite Pam. Well done.

Bongani Ndwandwe October 13, 2012 at 8:46 am

I also admire Pres. A Lincoln, Christianity is believing in Jesus Christ. There people who believe who believe in God the Father but contradict themselves when they deny the deity of Christ; like some Jews do. I like this statement by him, “Yes, I do love Jesus”.

That is confession of the deity of Christ

michael blincoe October 10, 2012 at 10:33 pm

i live in new zealand….the main news we get here is about the usa at war and occupying many countries…nothing is stated about its upholding and promoting of christian unity and values in its quest for world stability and peace even if it means a christian style jihad

Bonnie October 13, 2012 at 10:45 am

Where is Jimmy Carter on this list? I continue to be saddened by the categories we put ourselves in as Christians–the “us against them” mentality. I doubt very much that Christ cares about our political affiliations, yet so many Christians believe one can’t be a real Christian if one isn’t a Republican. Sad. Pro-life? Absolutely. Pro ALL life. From the tiniest collection of cells in the womb, to the soldier who should know exactly what it is he’s fighting for, to the worst of criminals on death row. The Bible does actually say “Love your enemies” and “Vengeance is mine”. Why do we gloss over these Biblical truths as if they don’t really count? Aren’t these truths consistent with who Jesus IS? Jesus–the one whose light and forgiveness we are to reflect to the world? Jesus, the one who defines us?

Karen October 15, 2012 at 2:04 am

Amen to that sister.
If all the citizens of all the countries that are so called Christians could stand up and live the word and not just quote it – oh what lights we will shine in the world.

Pamela Rose Williams October 15, 2012 at 12:23 pm

I agree with you Karen

Pamela Rose Williams October 15, 2012 at 12:22 pm

Hello Bonnie –

So sorry I did not list all of your favorites. And look at the list again — I do not hold to any “us against them” mentality. I do wish you could explain why you felt it was necessary to say what you said because quite frankly the rest of your comment I think it does not apply to this article at all.

Thanks for stopping by WCWTK

Big Joe October 15, 2012 at 9:00 pm

Jimmy Carter?? You are kidding right? The man who came into office after claiming to being a good born again Baptist, but then immediately sold out his “beliefs” to the likes of the Council of Foreign Relations, Socialist International, and a host of other anti-Christ organizations? This is a man who argued that because Jesus never spoke against gay marriage and abortion, that made it Biblical. This is a man who essentially claimed Paul didn’t fully understand homosexuality, so his comments against it were ill informed. Geez, maybe Paul didn’t understand, but the Holy Spirit who told him what to write did. Or how about his antiIsrael jealotry, which God said he would curse if anyone held that position. When I think of Jimmy Carter, his Christian faith is not what come to mind. Even now he is involved in rewriting the Bible to be more politically correct. [hyperlink removed] I think Mrs Williams did a good job and to criticise her for someone she did NOT mention and question her motives is a bit unChristlike.

Patricia April 25, 2015 at 9:49 pm

Hi Bonnie.
I am a Catholic Christian and am 100% Pro-Woman…Pro-Child…Pro-Life…NO Exceptions. By NO Exceptions I mean neither rape…nor incest should EVER be exceptions. If people make exceptions they cannot call themselves Pro-Life, and they are saying God makes mistakes…GOD makes NO mistakes. God is perfect…GOD IS perfection.
Thank you for letting me respond, and God bless.

James October 13, 2012 at 11:06 am

What makes America unique amongst other Christian nations? I live in Canada and we should also be included as a Christian nation. It’s not about being unique as you state but about loving God and excepting Christ as your saviour. It’s not a competition as everything seems to be in the states.

Lori January 29, 2015 at 2:17 pm

Our attempt at self governance makes us unique….israel tried for a while in the old testement too, until they asked for a king.
Of course we are not the only Christian nation. We tried to get away from the devine right of kings and to institute individual liberty, personal property rights, and limited government, by the people, for the people. Its being taken over by fabian socialists in the republican side and by Marxist socialist on the left. Reagan is my favorite pres.

Liz October 15, 2012 at 5:49 am

President Obama is a professing Chrisitan, and has a loving family.

Pamela Rose Williams October 15, 2012 at 12:26 pm

Hi Liz, I see no evidence of President Obama’s Christianity.

Cynthia October 19, 2012 at 12:36 am

Is it your place to determine who is or isn’t a Christian? In President Obama I see a loving church going family man as I saw with Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush. Their individual sins are between them and God. Is it really our place to decide who is “really” a Christian?

Pamela Rose Williams October 19, 2012 at 1:25 pm

Hello Cynthia, thank you for leaving your comment here. Our Christianity is between us and God. However true Christians bear fruit and their Christianity can be seen clearly by others (Matt 3:7-9; Mat 7:16-23). Since I am the author of this article I take full responsibility for what I have shared here. The article was written based upon extensive research. These are my top 10 choices. I hold to my previous statement that I see no evidence of President Obama’s Christianity, therefore he did not make my list. I will step even farther to say that when we read about President Obama in the history books he will not be listed as being known as one of our Christian presidents. I provide the following Scriptures that I encourage you to study as well 1Cor 15:1-4, Rom 10:8-13, 1John 2:24, 2Cor 11:3-4, Gal 1:9, Heb 2:1, Heb 10:23, Rom 8:14-16,23; Rom 8:9,15-16; 2Tim 2:19-21; Jas 2:17b-24; Col 1:10-11b; Gal 5:22-23; John 13:35; John 15:4-5,8,16; and 2Pet 1:10-12

Chevelle February 7, 2013 at 12:04 pm

I really love that you went back to Scripture in your response. I think many Christians forget that and take what they see on the outside (more like the what the media tells them) as their truth. They forget to take what they see and a persons actions and put it to the test with the Scriptures. There is a quote that the Devil is a better theologian but still a devil. Evil can be clothed in white just as well as Good. Discernment is quickly becoming a forgotten practice with people who claim to be Christian.

Patricia April 25, 2015 at 9:14 pm

Pamela Rose Williams,
I realize these posts are 3+ years old but I wanted to give my opinion too.
My name is Patricia, and I live in Southern Oregon.
I agree with you in regards to our current president NOT being Christian. I don’t believe for one minute he has even an ounce of Christianity in his entire body. Neither does Michelle. I don’t believe either of them were even born in this Country, especially after what Michelle said (under her breath) at the first inauguration in 2009. Her words were “all this for a flag”. REALLY Michelle?!
This country gives you freedoms you would never get in other countries.
He actually speaks against Christianity by his actions.
He’s trying to appeal to the gullible Christians who did vote for him. During an interview he admitted to being a Muslim. (not one of the good ones either).
I am a Catholic Christian. Every time he says anything against Christianity I get sick in my stomach.
I’m glad he’s almost OUT of the WH…I plan to celebrate. Good thing he can’t run again…yea!!

Eugene October 15, 2012 at 7:17 am

God has so much blessed the US as a fore-front nation in the world. Is America a Christian nation? Definitely not. Granted, it has imbibed a lot of Christian principles, yet it has also been acting against a lot of Christian principles. See same sex marriage – sodomy, abortion – murder, discrimination, an eye for an eye – retaliation, etc. All the same, it is doing so much better than a lot of other nations.

Pamela Rose Williams October 15, 2012 at 12:30 pm

Hello Eugene,

Founded on Christian principles and Christian nation are two different things — I agree. Because of our freedom to practice any religion, things that are non Christian will continue to seep in and even possible destroy our nation. This is the sad truth. But I agree out nation is better off than most.

Robert October 15, 2012 at 11:51 am

Great article Pam,
Spot on. It is certainly a time when Christians need to be praying for our nation and its leaders. Thanks for reminding us. God bless you.
Yours in Christ,

Nicholas October 18, 2012 at 4:08 am

I have heard some say Absolum may have resembled the 1st political type of person in the Bible , I see other’s comments , and realize you learn from them , or they do cause you to investigate their comments . I surely believe we need to pray for our nation more than ever . I know GOD has a plan , and it will be fulfilled , but I believe we are to make efforts all the way till the end .

Nicholas October 18, 2012 at 4:21 am

I would like to jump back in and say , we need to pray for all nations , we need to pray for sinners , hate the sin , but love the sinner . I don’t want to offend anyone from another country , I would like to show love for all instead ! I don’t want to compete , Jesus was sent to save the world , GOD so loved the world , HE sent HIS only (UNIQUE) son to die for it , so if we believe and except this we all have the same chance a eternal life ! From a CHRISTIAN American

Pamela Rose Williams October 19, 2012 at 1:27 pm

AMEN Nicholas, thank you for your comments. Praise God for your boldness.

Pam October 19, 2012 at 3:46 pm

What a great article. Thanks for reminding us that we did have good leaders and for reminding us how bad our country is getting. God must be so sad. People around here are praying for America, may be all over the USA. This would be great to give them. This election is especially hard for a lot of reasons. The fact that they want to take IN GOD WE TRUST off of our money and we the people don’t have any say so in it. I think it’s terrible. They took any kind of religion or prayer out of schools. Our Mormons or Muslims even considered Christian???

Jisha D. Charles October 23, 2012 at 2:46 pm

Hey Pam!!
Can I have your e-mail address?

Cindy January 4, 2019 at 7:26 pm

Josh’s iam not Pamela but, i would like to hear your response.

Jeston July 3, 2013 at 4:58 pm

Ms. Pam, what a great articular you wrote and I really appreciate your leadership on this subject. Leaders influence and followers are being influenced. You have sparked the minds for the reader and I thank you for your influence… I pray that God the Father will continue to bless you and your family…

kirk gavin April 17, 2014 at 6:14 pm

Yes- don’t forget about James Garfield. And when he was shot he suffered horrific pain for sometime before dying
Few people remember James Garfield, he was a man of sorrows like Jesus.

A. S. Mathew November 29, 2014 at 4:10 pm

God is not looking for a crowd, but a chosen vessel to perform wonders. Moses was chosen by GOD to lead the people of Israel to the promised land, what he had at his disposal was the old long wooden stick. These Christian Presidents have played very critical roles in creating history. The new Prime Minister of Australia is a Rhodes scholar, finally went to a seminary and shows his dependency on GOD while dealing with the political leaders of the world, a very decent humble human being.

History repeats the same old thing that GOD is not looking for a crowd to perform miracles but only one person. Thank GOD, the U.S. had some of the greatest believers as her Presidents.

Satan comes disguised as Christ at the sixth seal, the sixth trumpet, and the sixth vial! 666! This is antichrist! Don’t be deceived! The True Christ will be coming at the 7th seal, the 7th trumpet, and the 7th vial! Wait for Him! We will be in our spiritual bodies at His coming! Wait for Him!
Stay in our Heavenly Father’s Word every day.
In Jesus name.

I agree with some, but you are not a Christian simply because you believe in “God.” A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ the Lord. People can worship god the devil, too. Does not make you a Christian because speak about truths or “believing” in “God.” As a Christian or believer in Christ…first step is believing in existence and acknowledgin Him as your Saviour, then following in His footsteps.

Gary Lane October 20, 2018 at 2:10 pm

I am more than surprised President Jimmy Carter did not make this list. I will be very surprised if President Trump makes the list. Jefferson certainly had a mixed Christian life.

Jack Wellman October 20, 2018 at 2:22 pm

Hello Mr. Lane. There are many other presidents with as strong as or stronger faith than past president Jimmy Carter. Recently, and including in his last year in his short 4-year presidency, he said, “I have been struck, personally and in my experience as President, by the human and moral values which Americans as a people share with Islam. We share, first and foremost, a deep faith in the one Supreme Being. We are all commanded by Him to faith, compassion, and justice” (in a post from “Relations With Islamic Nations Statement by the President. February 7, 1980). Islam and Christianity do NOT have the same God. Allah is one of 397 pagan gods that Muhammed selected to be god, so it is not the same “Supreme Being” Mr. President, that we share “a deep faith in,” so he is clearly wrong here. There are many cases where the former president has equalled the Islamic god with the One, True God, and this may be why he didn’t make the list of Christian presidents.

Phyllis February 17, 2020 at 3:45 pm

This list is nice but I am curious why President Obama is not included. Pres. Obama is a Christian and regularly attended Church while in office. Thanks.

Jack Wellman February 17, 2020 at 4:54 pm

Hello Phyllis. Past President Obama is not known is the same light as these other presidents are. And, these other presidents all supported life as they were pro-life and not pro-abortion as past President Obama was and still is. Christians believe in everyone’s right to life, meaning the unborn too, and so did these presidents, but not so with President Obama.

Maxine Kumekpor February 18, 2020 at 11:38 am

Pres B. OBAMA certainly was a practicing Christian and exercised his faith in many trying moments of his Presidency.
Your evaluation in this context is not without bias…

Jack Wellman February 18, 2020 at 11:40 am

Hello Maxine. It is not biased but only based upon facts. He was not and is not prolife, and Christians are to be prolife as God is the Author of life. I am sorry if you are offended, but we must fight for the unborn as the last president did not.
