God still speaks audibly to His people. He has spoken to me, twice. Each time was one year apart while I was starting my spring garden. Same place, one year apart, same words. The first time I stopped to see who was behind me.
The second time a year later I looked, but already knew it was God, and only God… I worry about people who do NOT hear from God in the many and various ways He speaks to His own. Only His children hear Him and know His voice. Be familiar with God and His son Jesus Christ, and listen. He will speak to you…in a way you understand and cannot avoid.

Hello Betsy. The problme is, when people believe God speaks to them and they do things contrary to the will of God, then it is the wrong god…the god of this world perhaps. I worry about people who say God speaks audibly to me all the time. That is not the norm at all and is not the nor. Please know that God has spoken to us already in past times (Heb 11:1-2) and God speaks to us most loudly and clearly in the Bible, not in our ears. Be careful with the one you think you are hearing…it may not be the One Who rules heaven, but is satantic…so we should be FAR more worried about those who God speaks audibly too all the time…something is very wrong with this. Please seek counsel. Speak with your pastor.

What makes you think that God can’t or doesn’t speak audibly to us, yet Satan can? Are you putting Satan’s abilities above God’s? God deals with everyone in a unique way. If God doesn’t speak audibly to you, how can you tell someone else that it’s impossible to audibly hear God? God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Since he spoke audibly in past times, he is perfectly capable of speaking to us in the world today.

God speaks to us most clearly thru His Word and His Son (Heb 1:1-2). There is nothing in the New Testament church that teaches believers will hear an audible voice from God. Why would God need to add anything to His Word, the Bible, since it is sufficient knowledge that all might be saved. Any other “voice” may be from another god, so please be careful about what you think you heard and who the actual source is. God speaks to us in all we need to know in Scripture, not thru “audible voices” people hear or think they hear.

People doubt God speaks to others audibly because they’ve never heard him audibly. They think why you, and why not them? Surely they love God so they would’ve heard more or as much as anyone else. It’s ignorance that causes this doubt. Nowhere in the Bible is it said that God will refrain from speaking directly to his people at some point
– anywhere. I believe the Shepherd knows his sheep. He speaks to those who will hear. My mother considers herself a person of faith but would probably think herself crazy before she thought herself privileged enough to hear from God. From what I’ve seen, God does not speak to closed ears, nor does he waste effort on sheep who do not heed to certain types of communications.
Of course the God will not direct or speak contrary to the word, and he leaves no doubt as to who is speaking. It’s clear as day, and unmistakable.

Again, it says, in the past, God has already spoken to us clearly thru His prophets & His apostles (Heb 1:1), & in these last days thru His Son (Heb 1:2). You set yourself up for hearing from another god, and not the God of the Bible. Why seek an audible voice when Scripture clearly teaches all we need to know. Nothing to add to it, like you portend it to be. Please repent of the doctrinal error, and I pray you are not teaching/misleading others. I will pray for you Simone.

God spoke audibly to me as well. I stopped going to church on Sunday because I was busy working and tired. Then God spoke to me on Sunday, “God is speaking, return home”. My first thought was that it is an evil spirit speaking, but now I think it was really God. I am happy that God invited me home, because I felt rejected from church community, I felt like there was no place for me.

It’s usually the devil that makes us feel so out of place, meanwhile he keeps other Christian’s that would have been naturally there to encourage you to be so busy with many issues and troubles of life. Many atimes they would even remember you and want to give u a call but they get busy and forget while u are there feeling no one cares about you.Take it from me it’s all part of the devil’s plan to draw you away fromGods people and activities.Stay connected dear and welcome back home.

Very well said Sade. Thank you.

In 47 yrs walking w/ the Lord I have heard his voice twice. I turned to look it was so clear. He spoke my given name and one other time. I also saw a vision one time back in the 80’s.

Although it is not frequent, God can speak to His saints audibly if He chooses to. We just need to be in a place to discern Him and He will meet us however He sovereignly wills. He is the same God as He was when He spoke in ages past. We DO have to discern the voices we hear but God does speak to us audibly today

Jack Wellman February 8, 2020 at 11:04 am

Hello Susan. God speaking to you audibly can be dangerous. It can be the Enemy who appears as an angel of life. The clearest way to hear God speak is not audibly, as you say, but through His Word. Satan has his own sinister ministers and can do miracles too, so be careful about who you think is speaking to you. It may not be who you think it is. Please read this: https://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/how-can-i-know-when-god-is-speaking-to-me/ God does not speak audibly these days. If you think you’ve heard God, you may have been hearing a demon.

Simone Price October 20, 2020 at 5:50 pm

Satan will not instruct people to do God’s word or obey his will as laid out in the word. He is here to steal, kill and destroy. If he speaks to you it will not be to tell you to forgive someone who has wronged you, or yo pray for your enemy, or to fast, or to do anything else to bring you closer
to God. You’re confusing the voices you’ve seen on TV to true spiritual life. God doesn’t leave confusion in anyone’s heart or mind. The holy spiritual convicts us. He would not leave us guessing or wondering if that was him or not.

Jack Wellman October 20, 2020 at 6:09 pm

Hello Simone. Never did I say what you said that “Satan will not instruct people to do God’s Word or obey His Will.” Where did you read this? This is fabrication my friend. Please be kind & honest in your comments. Thank you.

Attn: Jack Wellman – THANK YOU for your responses in this article. You have the right words and are on track to bring people back to the LORD. That is not easy to do in this world because they really think they heard what they heard “from the LORD”. Please keep helping all people who can’t imagine the power of the Evil One here on earth, and may GOD bless you for all you do to try to inspire all people to think about what you said and return to the LORD for (ALL ETERNITY),
and that my friend is along time. May GOD bless you!

Hello Dan. So encouraging sir. Thank you and I pray other godly men’s voice like yours is heard in this age of apostasy.

John 10:3-5
“The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep LISTEN TO HIS VOICE. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because THEY KNOW HIS VOICE. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

Jack Wellman September 10, 2020 at 9:27 am

Amen. They know His voice and He is the Word so read the Word and you can hear God clearly and not depend on some “voice” which could be Satan.

You are so kind pastor. Thank you for the encouragement for Pam. I heard John MacArthur say, “If it’s not in the Bible, God didn’t say it.”
