Thanks for posting this verses.

“Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.”

Gregory Barr August 13, 2012 at 11:04 pm

Thanks for getting the word out there.
Do you have any input on how I might explain why God forbade man (Adam) from eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

Larry December 5, 2012 at 5:13 pm

There was a tree of life and a tree of death in the garden. The tree of death represents man pursuing evil that is called good, self will. The fig leaves were man’s plan of salvation that Cain followed offering fruits and vegetables on the altar that ends with eternal death. God gave them the skins of animals as a covering for their nakedness (lost condition) until a better sacrifice (Jesus) would be given. Those in Christ rose from the grave with him at that time. (It is so sure.)

Ope Popoola December 1, 2018 at 6:28 am

The issue was that they were not to eat of the tree of life because the time is not right the time will come when they (Adam) will be mature enough to eat but they disobeyed

Jack Wellman December 1, 2018 at 10:17 am

Thank you for your comment, but the issue was that they disobeyed God and paid the consequences for disobeying and lost their chance for eternal life, so it had nothing to do with the maturity of Adam but the disobedience of Adam. Please read Gen 1-3.

I was googling ‘Praying for Wisdom’ and this was on the top searches. I just want to say thank you, and like some on here have said, it was perfect timing when I read these.

TGPrentice April 24, 2014 at 10:45 pm

I consider the verses of Proverbs 2:2-7 crucial in seeking wisdom, knowledge and understanding. It is written, ” …if my people fail, it will be due to lack of knowledge.”
My quest for wisdom begin in search of “What does God want me to have knowledge of.” My phrased has shorten to “What God wants me to know.” In search of wisdom, we are to desire it so strongly we cry out to God for it. Also, beg and try with all our heart to gain understanding. Only the Lord gives them. w w w.God2Jesus2Me

Hello sir,
I’ve a question.
When Jesus prayed, to whom was he addressing his prayers?

Could you please explain?

Thank you.

Jack Wellman April 24, 2020 at 9:30 am

He prayed and alway spoke to the Father, as we are commanded to do in the Lord’s Prayer.
