My father deserted me and the rest of my family when I was about seven. I can’t say for sure if that experience helped me or hurt me. I do know that if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn’t have raised my kids from the standpoint of being my trophies and what everyone thought about me because of their accomplishments or shortfalls, but to be guide for who they wanted to become. Early on, a parent can start recognizing a childs tendencies and how they were affected by the world around them, but I never really involved myself as a guide without me being the subject, when they should have been the subject of the life lesson. I guess I was trying to get them to live my life and fix the errors of my past. I love my kids and I pray that they will know the God of the Universe who loves them more than I ever could.

I too have been moved by this pastor. I too grew up without a father and never have even seen a picture of him but I have always pondered the thought that he may have came to saving faith in Christ and I might seen him some day. But let me also add that I actually did have a Father, my Heavenly Father to whom I will always been in eternal gratitude for. Oh yes, Psalm 103 is among my favorites for it is an amazing picture of our amazing God the Father. Well done sir and thank you.

Nice post. I learn something tougher on completely different blogs everyday. It’s going to at all times be stimulating to learn content material from other writers and apply somewhat something from their store. I’d choose to use some with the content material on my weblog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll offer you a hyperlink in your net blog. Thanks for sharing.

I have a good father. A man who has weekly Bible studies for his family. A man who has worked hard to provide and who has been a loving husband to my mom. The undoing of the father in the home has wreaked havoc in black communities and it has now spread to much of our society. God is not our heavenly mother. He is our Heavenly Father. Much of the attack on men and on fathers is rooted in rebellion. It is demonic. Fathers are needed and fathers need encouragement. So thank you for these verses and for writing this.
