Amen to Gods deliverance!

tony August 27, 2017 at 1:25 pm

So very very true. Link to this the false teaching of generational curses then all of a sudden people are led to believe that they have to “break off” any curses and satanic influences going back to Adam – not my thoughts. I have seen people in bondage to so called deliverance, they will not listen to scripture because “God has told them what is right, and because I stand in opposition is a sign that I am standing against God..” When you get this in your home it is fatal. Every day for 4-5 hours reading through and praying through books on Freemasonry and breaking off, having to spend hours every day because they need protection from witchcraft being done against them, when immediate family i s seen to have performed sacrifices against them, placing curses on them…” Every day experience “deliverance” by burping or by “puffing out “air.. This and more for those who fall to the lie about deliverance ministries.

Thank you so very very much for your sound biblical response

Thank you Tony. Sadly, this is growing and will continue to increase, but we know God always preserves a faithful remnant for Himself. Thank you for the encouragement sir.

How would you council someone in your family who strongly believes in deliverance?

Jack Wellman September 4, 2017 at 11:50 am

Thank you Tony. I would review what we in this article and use the Bible as a guide to see if they are biblical or not, and I don’t think they are from what the Bible teaches. I would ask for chapter and verse to see where they find this teaching, because either something is biblical and correct or it’s not biblical and incorrect. Thankfully, none in my family or in the church I pastor believe in this.

thank you very much. It is very difficult when it is your wife

Thank you for the sound doctrinal support on this subject. I often wondered about these ministries, like Bob Larson and the like, who now have made it a business. I’m saddened by this as I had respect for Mr. Larson, and to see youtube videos that are no different from false teachings, from him is disheartening, to say the least. Several things you pointed out brought much clarity to this type of ministry. Thanks much and God bless.

Hello Don. It saddens me too my friend. It seems there are more false teachers these days than sound ones, so we must be diligent. Many wolves out there who desire to fleece the flock then devoure them. Thank you for the encouragement sir.

You are approaching this wrong when looking for verses. The actual word in the original Greek is “sozo”. Jesus healed a leper, and he delivered people from unclean spirits. Not only Jesus, but also his disciples. And the Bible says that people after Jesus would do GREATER things than the miracles Jesus did.

People are still healed by laying on of hands with prayer. They are still freed of spirits and demons. These things STILL HAPPEN, and it’s biblical. If you don’t think so, you should actually go to one. The Bible says to test these things. Considering that these miracles actually still happen, I know you are wrong. Spirits can be cast out through freedom prayer/sozo/deliverance ministry. People are freed from addictions, spirits, and bodily ailments.

Jack Wellman June 23, 2020 at 10:09 pm

Hello Mark. By Jesus saying they would do greater things, you are taking the verses out of context. For more about this, please read this: https://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/what-did-jesus-mean-by-doing-greater-things-than-these/ People are still being healed, but not all people. It’s not God’s will to heal every single person. That’s not Scriptural. The laying on of hands is not healing them…it is God healing them thru others, but the others do not have the power to heal. Only God has that power. Miracles still happen and people are set free from demons, but not believers. NO believer can be possessed. It never happened in the New Testament Church and it cannot happen today since God the Holy Spirit is in us. People are freed from addictions and other things, not be being delivered by some minister, but by the power of God’s Spirit. You must study this better to see you nor do others have power to heal. God chooses who to heal and when, not “faith healers.” I investigated the “sozo ministry” or by the “sozo prayer.” I must warn you brother; this is not biblical and is even satanic. Repent of this cult. Leave it and find a faithful church who preaches the gospel.

What about the people Jesus Christ delivered from demon possession? And Judas Escariote who was possessed by satan after spending 3-1/2 years with Jesus.

Jack Wellman October 7, 2020 at 9:18 am

Judas was not ever saved, and Jesus had authority over demons as He is sovereign over all creation. To focus on deliverance (which they do not actually do) is to take our eyes off Jesus and not do what He commanded us to do (Matt 25:35-36) as unto Him (Matt 25:40) but to not do so and focus on other things He has no commanded us to do, is tragic news for some (Matt 25:41-46) as many said “Did not we cast out demons in your name?” What did He tell these people? “Depart from me for I never knew you!” (Matt 7:21-23). Get your eyes off manmade doctrines and onto Jesus and His commands. These “ministries” distract us from true relgion.

What do you do with all the scriptural references to cursed objects? Obviously they are an abomination because they are used for ungodly purposes, idolatry, witchcraft etc. and they draw people in.

Pastor Jack Wellman June 4, 2021 at 11:13 am

Thank you “M” for your comment and yes, they are an abomination before God.

Ren June 23, 2021 at 3:21 pm

Believers of God do continue to sin.
And when one sins, it does open the door for evil spirits to walk with them.

Jack Wellman September 4, 2017 at 5:18 pm

I would imagine it would be sir. I am sorry. My prayer is for you brother.
