What Does 666 Mean? A Bible Study

by Jack Wellman on October 15, 2011 · Print Print · Email Email

What does the number 666 in Revelation mean?  Who is the dragon?  Who is the Beast and what is the mark of the beast?

The book of Revelation is an enigma to many.  In the first place it is not the Revelation of the Apostle John.  It is Jesus Christ’s revelation to John who in turn recorded it for our sakes.  Revelation 1:1-2 says that it is “The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him [John] to show his servants [the church] what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.” So the book of Revelation is not of human origin and this includes the Apostle John – it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ given to John. But what is this mark of the beast and the number 666 speaking about in Revelation chapter 13?

The Dragon

Revelation 13:1 says that “The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.”  The dragon is none other than Satan himself.  He is called a dragon many times in the Bible.  In Revelation 20:2 this is made clear: “He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.”

The Beast

The beast combines features from four beasts (Dan. 7:1-8, 17-27) and represents idolatrous kingdoms.  The beast could also represent the Antichrist.  Now several antichrists are mentioned by John in his letters (1 John 2:18, 2 John 1:7).  But there is a difference between antichrists (small “a”) and the Antichrist (capital “A”).  The antichrist (small “a”) is anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ and is God as John says in 2 John 1:7, “I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.”  And in 1 John 2:18, “Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.”  Since there are “many antichrists” coming, this means that this is not the antichrist John mentions in Revelation 13.  This is understood to be true because many antichrists had already come in John’s day (2 John 2:18).

The Antichrist has also been called the “man of lawlessness” or sin and is mentioned by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-11 where he speaks of the last days just before Christ‘s return, “Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,  not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.  Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness [sin] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God [see Revelation 13:4 & 8].  Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 1and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.  For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie.”

The “one who now holds it back” I believe is the Holy Spirit and the Spirit must be taken out of the way, with what most believe will be the church’s rapture, before the man of sin (or the Antichrist) is revealed.  Satan is the power behind this beast which could be an end-times ruler of evil and darkness (Rev 13:2).  This beast will have such power that he will control the world’s market and the ability for anyone to purchase or sell anything (Rev 13:17).

666 – The Mark of the Beast

The beast apparently can control who can and cannot buy and sell.  If they do not have the beast’s mark, then they have no power to buy or sell since “It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads” (Rev 13:16).   This mark was “so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man [literally the number of humanity]. That number is 666” (Rev 13:17-18).   The number 666 falls one short of God’s number of perfection which is 7.  This number is like a false trinity of sinful origin and reflects an imperfection times three.

Many people have falsely had the number 666 assigned to someone or others by using the old Roman Numerals system where X = 10, V = 5 and so on.  Over the years many have tried to take the letters of human leader’s names and total their numbers to six hundred and sixty-six. These attempts have obviously been wrong.  They ascribed this mark or number to various Popes, to Hitler, and to Rome itself (in the manner using “Latin Man”) but to no avail.  The number 666 may simply be a number like everyone has for their Social Security card or their driver’s license and this same number will need to be memorized (thus on their forehead) or be implanted in their hand somewhere (Rev 13:16).  No one is certain about this but the number is of human origin.  The main thing is that the number 666 is anti-Christ or anti-God and is supremely carnal and sinful.  The source of this number and all evil in the world is Satan or the Devil (Rev 12:9).

Because the Bible reveals so little about the number 666 it is unwise for me to speculate.  The important thing is that anyone who is not Christ’s is susceptible to this beast and the Antichrist but those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life have nothing to fear from the beast nor anything to worry about the number 666 and having the mark of the beast be on them (Rev 13:8).

Jack, thanks a lot for that article. The Bible says the wise should calculate the number 666 to find its origin and today people come up with so many facts , does that mean that, it has not been revealed?

You are incorrect in interpreting the XES to be 666 (or 616).
“number” in Greek can also mean “value”.
X=oneself
E= to support / magnify
S= to serve
…to serve and magnify oneself (one’s will, one’s rights).

This is the desire for the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
This is Cain’s way…”am I my brother’s keeper?” ( I am keeper of myself.)
This is the “god of fortresses”.
This is the image that all worship.
This is the mark on one’s forehead or hand.

Very interesting article.
I heard a Pastor preaching that 666 is found in WALT DISNEY’s Signature, what do you think of it?

Reply

Jack Wellman October 26, 2012 at 5:23 pm

Thank you Obed. The number 666 is the number of man and so it is not a number for anyone specifically, otherwise there are literally millions and even Mother Tresa (the late saint) could have had this number too. So Walt Disney’s signature has nothing to do with the beast. Besides he is dead. The number means it will be a ruler from the human kingdom, not a specific man with the numbers added from the letters of his name. Make sense?

Revelation 14:9 is another passage dealing with the Mark of the Beast which we can consult for help. Using it we can dispel any doubt about the literal meaning of the Mark of the Beast.

This passage is the third of three angel’s warnings delivered to mankind. This third message specifically warns everyone about the grave consequences of receiving the Mark of the Beast in the “forehead” or “hand:”

Revelation 14:9-11
9, And a third angel followed them and spoke with a loud voice: “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand,
10. The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb:
11. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

It’s easy to over interpret Relevations. I think its true meeting is more apparent through a historical appraisal rather than just a purely theological one. It makes sense that John wrote this about things that he thought were about to occur in his times, not 2000+ years later. 666 probably referred to Nero – not a popular figure with Early Christians at the time when Relevations was probably written.

In my person study of the word I often find that things in the Bible often appear in more than one place. I was wondering why the other verses in the Bible where “666″ appears were not referenced? Do you think that those verses could be significant to the meaning behind the number of the Beast?

Simon November 19, 2012 at 10:45 pm

I don’t think there is any big mystery behind the beast. As mentioned, John was writing about events that were happening in his time, including the oppression experienced by many Christians from the Romans. He was hoping that the second coming would see Jesus and God free them from their Roman oppressors. I know it is tantalising to think that the events that John talked about are still to happen but it seems that those times past by a long time ago. It is important to remember that Christians around 1AD thought they were living in end times. They thought this because Jesus gave the impression that the second coming wouldn’t be too much after his death (Matthew 24:34 as one example). If and when Jesus may come again is a mystery but unfortunatly, the answer is not in Relevations.

Rev 13:18 calls for a man with wisdom to count the number 666 for is a number of man. So this number is given and a man of understanding is able to count it. Rev 13, 14 and 17 is all about the controvesy between God and Satan using the beast. So Im saying Jack if you have got understanding you cant calculate the number 666. This number is not literal, its not a mark that will be written to every men. Rev 13:15 says he will cause many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. So its clearly shows that this mark is something to be worshiped, but you cant worship a number. Verse 16 says he will cause all both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive the mark on their right or on their foreheads. By their foreheads it means by mind you will accept it and the right hand it means action, which means you will accept it by your mind then practice it. Freinds this number is not just a number but it has got a deep meaning. The book of Revelation is unsealed..Rev 22:10 “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.” It is the book of Daniel that was sealed..Dan 12:4. Lets ask wisdom from God and He will grant us.

I think you are quite right, because I dont think the number will be written on peoples foreheads and on their hands what you have said is actually insightful.Question is how will we know that we are not actually using it, at the moment we are using cash to transact we hav accepted it on our minds and actually acting on cash.Am just thinking please advice.

Thank you for your question today Macharia Victor. I think you have nothing to worry about because God knows whose are His and whose are not. If a person has repented, confessed their sins, and put their trust in Christ, He will never dissapoint or cast or turn anyone away….read John 6:37, John10:28-29. Our salvation does not depend upon what we do or don’t do but in what Christ has already done.

I am more concern with verse 18 in Rev 13″let him that has understanding count (KJV) the number of the beast for it is a number of a man…” why did the writer say: “here is wisdom”?’ what was the original message here? To calculate and calculate the number of the man?

Hi Jac. I have never read in the Bible about any gate of hell having a name. What you hear can be wrong. What you read in the Bible is always true. I don’t understand what you mean by keeping a single figure of it. We don’t know who this beast is. Besides, for those who are saved, they have no fear of this satanistic beast. Put your trust in Christ and there is no fear necessary to have.

Jac,

wow, been reading down through here and thought maybe I could help out a little. At the very least give out some food for thought you might say. Imagine for a moment if you will.

Yes, the number 6 is the number of man, as has been stated by Jack and others. God created “man” Genesis 1:27-31 on the sixth day. But here is the kicker…

666 is not a literal “mark” at all, it is IN your forehead and OF your right hand which means works. So it’s what you BELIEVE in your head, and what you DO with your hands. The reason we are told to figure the number 666 is to clue us in and warn us that Satan as THE Antichrist will show up on the scene claiming to be Christ at the 6th Trump, the 6th Seal, and the 6th Vial. The true Christ does not return until the 7th Trump. Vial and seal.

So when the false Christ shows up claiming he is the true Christ, he shall deceive many. Those that believe he is really Christ will start following and worshiping him (That is the “mark” in/on the forehead), and doing things that support his cause (This is the “mark” in/in the hand.

Simon,

you said “They thought this because Jesus gave the impression that the second coming wouldn’t be too much after his death (Matthew 24:34 as one example)” That is just incorrect, you have to keep in mind the subject. The “This generation” in Matthew 24:34 is referring to the generation of the fig tree, it’s a parable we are told by Christ to learn. That generation’s starting point is marked by a very important event, it started in 1948 when Israel became a nation again.

So you see that Revelation is NOT past tense. The very name of the book means to reveal or make known.

The “BEAST” is the one world political system.

Respectfully,
Samuel A. Huber

Do you find the following scriptures significant in interpeding the number of the beast?

1 Kings 10:14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

2 Chronicles 9:13 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;

Ezra 2:13 The children of Adonikam, six hundred sixty and six.

I don’t want to get too weird and off the mark, but I find it interesting that the scriptures two of the scriptures mentioned speak of money (gold) something one would need to buy things like food. We are to count the number of the beast as an act of wisdom. The third is in reference to the temple or the rebuilding of the temple. Perhaps like most prophecies, it will be revealed in it’s proper time (Deu 29:29). Aloha.

As discussed above, Relevation was a book for its own time. It’s answers come from an understanding of early Christian and roman history. For example, the Whore of Babylon story refers to political and economic exploitation being experienced at the hands of the Romans. Also, when you convert Nero’s full name into its corresponding Greek number and add it up, guess what? 666! Nero was the emperor at the time when John wrote relevations and was causing particular hardship to the early Christians.you can’t fully understand the bible by trying to wad through the numerous theological interpretations alone. You need to understand when the various books were written, how the bible came together, what was the political and cultural environment at the time, and so on. As said before, Relevations was not written for our times.

Hello!
I Understand your concept…@ simon.
Gents and Ladies the bible does not have any equivalence with politics and economics!
First of all understand the aim of God to create you.
second..understand the purpose of God to give commandments!
Third why God was sending so many prophets?
and now why did he send Jesus his beloved son?
The answer will never be politics and economics! All these were done to save a human souls and not human body. And thereafter he gave the revelation not because of things which will pass ( economic, politics etc). It is creally shown in the book, it talks about time from the existing to the end of the world not just a single century.
ONE THING WHICH IS CLEAR FROM THE BOOK IT SAYS “ANY MAN WHO DOENT HAVE THE NUMBER 666 WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BUY OR TO SELL” WHAT DOES THE NAMBER MEANS?
Look at what is harpening to Iran, and any strong country which is against america and UK? they do what is stated above to the same.
My dear friends…the number has just started years back and it is spreading countrywise later on It will be individually. No one can see it by eyes, Tell me who owns America in real sence? Devil worshipers are controlling the world economy and politics know it? in that sence not even the president of US have a say to the club.
It is also stated in the bible people who loves material facts will never see the kingdom of God!. thats why even the innocent of American president or not has NO SAY TO THEM!
These devil worshipers will block you not to sell and not to buy just because they know you have a good understanding of God! They are taking over the world they are even here in the village!
THE DAY IS COMMING WHEN THEY WILL SAY OUR QUEEN, OUR FATHER LUCIFER SAYS NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO SELL OR BUY UNLESS YOU DO 1,2…Ad if you accept you will be automatically a member of the club! If you reject you will die my suffer my friend!
But also it is written God knows how to save his followers during that time…so dont worry!
Devil worshipers are in the church now, mosqu, are controlling our schools syllbuses, world environment, war in sudan and midle east, somaria. All these are done by them..intentionally.
See now it is not even a shame to people to say I warship the devil. see what rihanna, kanye west and others says in their songs. they blaspheme God they give HI to the devil in the public. Where we are going everyone will be suporsed to be like these blasphemers will you? if you dont they ignore you, dont buy neither sell.
666 shows creally it is a number of the foolish devil, Lusifer the cused one. And Freemansons declares everyday that they do worship the devil and they real do! They are the seeds of the ruling system which will come on the earth. When they mature enough the world will be in their hands compleately. Then who will be worshiped GOD or LUSIFER? and what if you reject? Give the answer..
The seed I have said to you is not very clear today but it was not even being seen during 500AD, and during 1970 here the place I live no body knew it..but now it is expanding and everybody even a kid knows it( freemanson). think about 20 years to come how will it be?
Thank you so much…be ware of devil the bible tells that he is very wise and you are supporsed to be wiser than him to know his mistries an missions.
If you are in America find out you are closer to them, they only remove the peace in the world….read in the revelation.
they Go to middle east and remove peace, to africa they sell weapons to labels in sudan and congo..to remove peace,in somaria and any where in the world for their benefits.
My dear friends find out from the clubs like Arsenal,Bacellona, real madrid…the bigest clubs you will know where they originated!
You cant fight with these guys they have powers now, the only way is FAITH IN JESUS WILL SAVE YOU.
The place I live just behind the house there is a tample for them written “FREEMANSON HALL” it is so amaizing people cant see.
I am finishing like this..
GOD SENT THE MSG THROUGH JOHN TO KEEP YOU ALERTED ABOUT THIS AND HE WANT TO SAVE YOUR SOUL…..
FREEMANSON WANT YOU TO SPEAK AGAINST GOD, THEY WANT TO WIND UP YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND BECOME UNSAVED…..
Stay away from them…..love jesus only!

Hi Richard
You are obviously a very learned person but you are making the exact error that I warned about. You are misinterpreting the Bible (in this case mostly relevations) by putting your 21st Century views, opinions and cultural biases on a 1st century piece of literature. To understand relevations we need to understand John of Patmos – what was it like living in John’s time, how did that influence what he was writing, what is the purpose of apocalyptic text such as John (as an aside, Simon also wrote an apocalyptic text call the Relevation of Simon Peter which didn’t make it onto the final cut of the New Testament), and so on.

I can’t stress this point enough – understand how the bible was written to fully understand its meaning.

Reply

Kali Puuohau January 10, 2013 at 2:14 am

I think we can all agree that proper hermeneutics is foundational in reading, understanding and interpreting scripture. Simon, I agree that this point cannot be stressed enough. However, when dealing with a book like revelations, dropping yourself in mindset and culture of ancient Rome by relying on the available historical data that you can only hope is somewhat accurate to the time period in order to unlock the meaning of all the mysterious imagery and symbolism in Revelations is quite a stretch. John was obviously well verse in the old testament particularly in the book of Daniel where many parallels can be seen between the two books. And can reference some of the subject matter to his enviornment in acient Rome, but that just scratchs the surface if to taking the entire book of revelations, the letter to the churchs, the throne room scene, the lamb, the scrolls, the vials, the war in heaven, the beasts, the two witnessed, the tribulation, the bibding of satan, second war, the judgement, lake of fire, new heave and earth. Factor all that in and simply using cultural references alone falls short by miles. Understanding how the bible was written is critical, more critical still is understanding God. For the believer, we understand that God by definition is an entity that transcends our understanding (Isaiah 55:9) That why I believe that all will be revealed in its proper time, we are encourage to seek and to knock but understand that God has the final say (Deu 29:29)

Kali Puuohau January 10, 2013 at 3:41 am

Now if you are looking at the Book of Revelations strictly from an academic perspective, that is an important historical first century Christian figure associated with a man who claimed to be a demigod, writing a book to his follows regarding what he perceived to be messages from his deity about future events, then yes. The historical angle makes perfect sense. If however you view the book of revelations as a message of Chirst return, your beloved personal Savior, divinely inspired from an Omipotent benevolent creator of all existence as we know it reveling his love, holiness, divine justice and warnings of what will no doubt come to past. Then I believe the historical angle falls short. It just makes for bad theology. That’s just my opinion, I hope I’m not coming accross disrespectful towards you and your views. That is not my intent. :-)

Reply

Simon January 10, 2013 at 4:01 pm

Hi Kali

No you didn’t come across as disrespectful at all.

Just to clarify, I’m not saying only look at what history tells us and ignore the rest. I’m suggesting that you need to know the history to fully grasp the theology. You appear to have done both as I pick up in your posts that you seem to appreciate and have an understanding of the history. But from my experiences in discussing the Bible, so few seem to have any knowledge of the historical perspective.

To add a bit more history to our discussion, it appears that the apocalyptic-style of writing started around 3-4 BC. Many Jews struggled with the fact that they continued to be invaded and endure hardships despite being Gods chosen people. Some thought they were being punished by God for not upholding the covenant. Others who thought that they have been good Jews and have been upholding Gods laws reasoned that they were being punished not by God, but by something else (devil) because they are righteous with God. They also then reasoned that at some point God would battle the devil to save them. This came to be know as the apocalyptic view. In fact many scholars consider Daniel to be an example of apocalyptic style writing.

Did you also know that Revelation was the last and late addition to the new testament. it probably wasn’t until until late 4th or early 5th centurys that it was accepted by early church leaders as there were doubts raised as far back as the 2nd century about its character, symbolism, and apostolic authorship.

On a final note (and like you I mean no disrespect) but be careful that you are not overlaying what you WANT to believe relevations means instead to seeing what it’s actually about. The history of apocalyptic writings is quite illuminating and should not just be pushed aside because it doesn’t sit well with your particular theological interpretation.

All the best,

Simon

Simon I think you are on the right track if you maintain historical meaning for the name represented by 666. Adding information to help us understand who 666 represents is that some early texts also use the figure 616 some latin texts still do.
The Emperor Neron Caesar The Greek version of the name and title transliterates into Hebrew as נרון קסר, and yields a numerical value of 666 The Latin version of the name Nero Caesar transliterates into Hebrew נרו קסר producing a number 616. Neron Caesar not only adds up mathematically but also historically.

A reading of History about Nero would lead most to conclude that he had the attributes that would coincide with the beast.

I note that the scholars and editors of The New Oxford Annotated Bible, and The Harper Collins Study Bible and Catholic Theologians all associate this number to Nero with an explanation similar to what I have given above.

Wow.

Thank you for the clarification. Loved your analysis. You are 100% correct. One needs to be very careful when one try’s to interpid scripture in that one need to check one’s self about what one believes the scripture is saying and more importantly what it does not say. Sometimes you can’t fill in all the blanks and if you do, just recognize that that is what you are doing. Speculation, not dogma. Thank you for sharing your insight on the “Apocalyptic View” Did not know about that. This would explain the parallels between both Daniel and John’s book of Revelations. Similar crisis going on with the Nation of Israel during both time periods.

I understand what you’re when it comes to studying the bible. It’s a book taken on faith and we all have a theology we hold to, however I find that some folks don’t take the time to study their theology and prayerfully seek to understand what the bible is saying. There is a historical component, a textual component, Culture, and your theological commentaries. You can’t just always believe what the pastor is saying, look it up. You may be surprise at what you find and you may have to rethink what you thought you knew, and there in is the beauty of studying the bible. You struggle with it and it becomes a part of you. Now you can relate better with Moses and Peter, the triumphs and faults and through them you begin to understand a tiny bit more about God.

Thank you Anil. I wish I could tell you more about this 666 but I can only reveal what God has revealed in His Word, the Bible. Where the Bible is silent, so must I be. I hope that you will first and foremost keep you eyes upon Jesus and be a disciple after His own heart, as I must do a better job at this too my friend. Thank you for your comment.

666 means the antichrist appears at the 6th seal, trump, and vial jesus at the 7th .The antichrist will be satan along with 7000 fallen angels, satan will masquerade as jesus and the whole world will follow except the elect because of the false rapture theory because for some people cant read 2nd thessolonians alot of false teaching and it makes me sick.

Hi, I want to know that “The church of God” who believes in heavenly mother, they claimed that Pope is the satan as the number of 666. Is that true? They also claimed that pope killed millions of people in the history.

Jack Wellman May 27, 2013 at 9:21 am

I can not believe that the Pope is Satan but one thing is clear, we need to be always ready for His return and for those who trust in Christ, they have no need to fear. I have never heard that the Pope killed millions of people in history. That is news to me. I personally can not believe that.

Sir I have a personal question, what is the greatest thing in Christianity? Believe or work? I have deep faith in Christianity but I haven’t fulfilled all commandments as the bible said like adultery, dreaming of money. I always want to walk on that way as Jesus told. I have deep faith but less work. I have not preached the gospel of God because I feel shy. Most of the time I think how to earn money in life. When I go to the church I pray to God that please remove my problems like adultery, dreaming of money from my life and I promise to myself that I will not thing about it but when I come to home same things happen again in my life. what should I do?

Hello my friend. From what the Bible teaches, we can never do enough good works to save ourselves and none of us could ever hope to keep the Commandments and so to believe is the greatest thing we can do. To believe is the common thread for all who are saved (Acts 4:12, 16:30-31, Romans 10:9-13).

As for being shy, we must recognize what we have been saved from and have the broken heart to save others from an eternity from which there is no escaping. Are you committing adultery right now? Or is this a past sin? Or is it “adultery of the heart” by lusting after women? Put your trust in Christ, believe on Him, pray and fast, read your Bible daily, and talk to your pastor about this if you have not already joined a Bible-believing church.

Thank you very much. Actually I have a problem that is fi adultery it means I think about it but I have not lusted with any women after my baptism only I think or dream about it I don’t wan’t to think but it automatically comes in my mind and bible said by lusting with any women is not only adultery but also thinking of any girl with that view also call adultery.

666 means satan is booted out of heaven the start of the 6th trump. Get it 6th seal,trump,vial=666.The first beast in revelations is the world economy that suffers a deadly head wound which is happening now.Only gods true elect know or understand this and their is no tattoo or chip that marks you.You will have to pledge to satan himself because he is the antichrist.I know some out there will laugh but a generation shall not pass from 1948 when these things occur 2018 will make up the 70 year generation and theirs only one more generation which is a 120 in the bible. So believe what you want but some know the truth.

Genesis 5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years (969); and he died.
In Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom, Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Because sixty was used in Methuselah’s age and not in the number of the beast leaves me pondering on the word threescore.

Jack Wellman September 7, 2013 at 10:50 am

Thank you Mr. Henry. I am not sure what you are asking so please forgive my thick-headedness. Threescore is 60 years. One score is 20 years so three is 60. Rather than focusing on who this “beast” is we should focus on Who Christ is and these other things, unknown to us, will make themselves plain as time goes by. The important thing is to stay in the Word of God, stay on our knees and be in the Body of Christ, the church…..

Hi sir I have a question from bible in the book of genesis chapter 6 there has written the sons of god came to earth and married with beautiful daughters of men. my question is that how many sons are there of God but in the new testament there has written that Jesus is the only son of God.

Reply

Jack Wellman September 16, 2013 at 10:15 am

Thank you Hari Thapa for your question. The proper translation for Jesus being the only Son of God, for example in John 3:16 is “the One and only unique Son of God.” We are God’s children is the most frequent mention of believers in Christ than the word “son” and the Son of God is capitalized, meaning that this is a proper noun, a title or name for Jesus. He was also called the Son of Man which is what Daniel and other prophets called the coming Messiah. Do you not believe that Jesus is God?

Reply

hari thapa September 16, 2013 at 11:19 am

I believe to Jesus but my question is there is a topic about the sons of God( genesis 6) which reveal that there are more then a son of God. I am asking such question because I don’t want to leave to follow jesus. but such chapter shows that it like a story written by people not inspired by holy sprit.

Thank you my friend. I see why you are saying this. ALL Scripture is inspired by God and is God-breathed (literal translation of the Greek) as 2 Tim 3:16 says. Do you believe the New Testament? The writers and Jesus believed in the Old Testament and they quoted it…Jesus quoted Genesis very often and so if Jesus believed in the Old Testament, including Genesis, then it must be true, right?

You also said that you don’t want to leaven to follow Jesus because of this one subject? Wow! You are staking your going to heaven or hell on one thing in Genesis?

As for Genesis 6, Because the Old Testament refers to angels as ben elohim, or sons of God, in a variety of places in the Old Testament, there is some exegetical basis to raising the possibility that ben elohim is to be understood as being synonymous with angels. However, a closer examination of the literary structure of the book of Genesis in general, and Gen. 6:1-8 in particular show us that such an interpretation is not allowable. Jesus said that in heaven we will be like angels and there will be neither male nor female but like the angels…and so how can angels have sex? They simply can not.

Matt. 22:30, “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.”

Luke 20:34-36, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, 35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; 36 for neither can they die anymore, for they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.”

Some people believe that the Nephilim are the offspring of sexual relations between fallen angels and human women. Jude 6 is often referenced as additional support when addressing the angelic realm who “…did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode…” (Jude 1:6). Others believe the Nephilim were giants (Nephilim means giants), men of great physical stature. Of course, this is also believed by some people who suspect that the offspring of the fallen angels and the women were those giants. They say this would explain their large size, but this is conjecture. Still others hold that the Nephilim are the descendents of Seth.

However, the term “sons of God” also refers to Christians in the New Testament, as Gal. 3:26 states, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” Since the question at hand deals with an Old Testament scripture, we must examine the context of that particular scripture to see how it is used.

I have came to the belief that 666 stand for nothing. But the extra 6 stands for adding something to the 66 books of The Bible.. The extra 6 meaning that it is trying to add to the Law of God, which is the work of Satan. The 66 books of The Bible are the law, anything else is blasphemy and the work of Satan.. That is how the interpretation of that has been given to me .

Why do people want to disregard history and the time the circumstances which the author of Revelation, John, wrote the book. Most manuscripts refer to the number as 666 but also there is a very early ms that refer to the number as 616.

The name of Cesar Nero in Hebrew has a value of 666 and in greek a value of 616. Nero was the first Cesar to persecute the early Christians, and in a manner that would make modern day violent movies look like child’s viewing.

Nero was the last of the Julio Claudian dynasty, and was used by John to represent the pagan God status of Roman Cesar’s. Having the mark of the beast represented performing obeisance to the pagan emperors of Rome. John reported in John 19:15 that the Jews rejecting Jesus as their King proclaimed to Pontius Pilate “We have no king but Caesar.”

Denying the clear intentions and link to history of the book of The Revelation to John removes part of the historicity of the Bible. Given John was living through this time and his brethren and many beloved christian had been murdered by Rome why try to deny the obvious link and effect on John?

The “Mark of the beast” 666 is not a physical number tattooed on your forehead or on the back of your right hand. It’s not “ON” your forehead, it is “IN” your forehead. What is “In your forehead”? Your BRAIN. What about right hand? It is referring to your WORKS. Most people are right handed and “your right hand” is symbolic of your works. So, it’s what you think and believe is “In your forehead” and of your right hand is symbolic of work, deeds etc…

Seals are symbolic of KNOWLEDGE. There are seven seals, trumps and vials. Satan’s number is 666 because he shows up in the Holy place claiming to be God at the 6th trump, 6th vial and 6th seal. there have it, why 666 is Satan’s number.

Below I have included some scriptures that tell us that this “seal” is not an actual seal, but a knowledge or understanding that is “IN” your forehead & not “ON” it.

1.Revelation 7:3
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Revelation 7:2-4 (in Context) Revelation 7 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations
2.Revelation 9:4
And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

I hope this is helpful and informative.

Sincerely and humbly,
Samuel A. Huber

Our human existence has always been defined by laws and statutes, starting with the 10 commandments. what if 666 is actually six hundred and sixty six laws, statutes, or commandments as to how to worship after the beast? Written in the minds( foreheads) and demonstated by the actions(right hands) of those that follow and carry them out. Just because the beast will be called “the lawless one” may not mean that he will not enact laws, just that those mandates will be abhorrent to god.

Thanks guys and ladies.
If 666 will control the world daily trading its clear that God was talking about global government system. Antichrist (in the place of Christ). So there is a man who is calling himself the son of God (on earth) who will introduce this 666 system. We must also understand that this 666 system is not about trading only but also for worshipping which is the main point of it.If you read Daniel chapter 3 you will find the similar system where people were forced to worship the gold (money/statue of the governor) image or perish. Here and now this is a controvecy of whom you worship God of Heaven or earthly god (currently operating global government ).
666 is the code of man who operates the global trading system right now. This man is controlling behind the scene the system that operates the global economy.
What is secret society ?? Find it by yourself then you will know what is all about 666 and who is driving the 666 system behind the scene.
I thank you.

We MUST remember, Satan in his role as Antichrist IS NOT a man. Satan is a supernatural spiritual being that can snap his fingers to make lightening come down from the heavens in the sight of men. He is going to get LOTS of attention, probably global tv, it will be the biggest revival anyone has ever seen. Those who believe in a pre tribulation “rapture” will be primed to be deceived by Satan as Antichrist, that will be his message, I’ve come to fly you on out of here, worship me and lets go. And as the Word says, upon Christ’s return, when those who really love Christ but fell for Satan’s lies, realize they were worshiping the false one they will pray for mountains to fall on them.

Respectfully,
Samuel A. Huber
