There are so many troubles in this world, but when we begin to count our blessings in Christ, it changes our life forever.
Blessed by God
There are so many troubles in this world, but when we begin to count our blessings in Christ, it changes our life forever. There are at least 496 times the Word of God uses the word bless, blessing or blessed, so the word blessed or blessings are found in the entire Bible. We know that “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it” (Prov 10:22). So recognizing that we are blessed can destroy our sorrow and turn it into joy. In the beginning, God blessed all His creatures, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth” (Gen 1:22), and today, He is blessing all who trust in Jesus Christ. For those who don’t, only curses await them and then judgment after death (Heb 9:27; Rev 20:12-15).
Blessed by Wisdom
We know that “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding” (Prov 3:13). Why are those who find wisdom blessed? It is because the wisest thing we could ever do is to put our trust in Christ. For believers, we understand that “Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence” (Prov 10:6).
Blessed by Giving
If you are a blessing to others, then you must realize that “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered” (Prov 11:25). If you are a giver or generous person, then you must already know from experience that “Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor” (Prov 22:9). You will be blessed when you bless others, so “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Cor 9:6). If you “give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered” (Prov 11:25).
Blessed by Persecution
If you’ve trusted in Christ, then you will be persecuted, but that’s okay. In fact, it is a great blessing to be persecuted for Jesus’ sake. Our Lord said, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 5:10). Even more, “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account” (Matt 5:11). Even being hated for your faith in Jesus will bring a blessing upon you and that can change our attitude toward those who hate us. What would Jesus tell us to do when we’re persecuted? He would “say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you” (Luke 6:27-28). In fact, “If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you” (1 Pet 4:14).
Blessed by Salvation
If we think about it, we should be the most joyful people on the planet because we were saved, despite being ungodly, wicked enemies of God (Rom 5:6-10). Instead of God pouring out His wrath upon us, He has poured out His blessing upon us who didn’t deserve it. Instead of wrath we deserved, we receive the forgiveness of sins and eternal life and nothing can take that away (Rom 8:38-39). God did not give us the wrath we deserved, and that’s called mercy, but gave us what we didn’t deserve or couldn’t earn, and that’s the free gift of grace (Eph 2:8-9). Truly, “blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin” (Rom 4:8).
Blessed by Trials
We try to stay away from trials and troubles, but the truth is, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12). A faith that is not tested is a faith that can’t be trusted, but God doesn’t test us to find out anything new about us. He already knows everything about us, but trials are to show us just how strong or weak our faith is. Job only understood later that his trials and troubles were God ordained and for his own good, so today, “we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful” (James 5:11). Knowing that God uses everything in our lives, both good and bad, to turn out for our ultimate best (Rom 8:18), we ought always say to everyone and to God Himself, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” (Eph 1:3).
Conclusion
I pray you have put your trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If that has not happened yet, my friend, you are in real danger of hell fire. And I mean, in immediate danger. You’re one breath, one heartbeat…one accident away from eternity when it will be too late to repent. Today is the best day to believe (2 Cor 6:2) since tomorrow is no guarantee. If Jesus Christ came today, here is your fate (Matt 7:21-23). This is why I plead with you as you read this, repent today…and I mean right now. Put your trust in Jesus Christ. If you do not, you will face God’s judgment after death guaranteed (Heb 9:27) or at Jesus Christ’s appearance (Rev 20:12-15), which could happen at any moment.
