Is Following Astrology Sin? Does The Bible Condemn Horoscopes?

by Jack Wellman · Print Print · Email Email

What does the Bible say about a Christian following astrology? Are horoscopes allowed for the believer? How does God feel about anyone following astrology or horoscopes?

Astrology's roots are tied to the calendar and seasons and have almost always been culturally and politically acceptable.

Astrology’s roots are tied to the calendar and seasons and have almost always been culturally and politically acceptable.

Ancient Astrological Practices

Following astrology is not new. This practice has been around for thousands of years. It has been dated from the 3rd millennium BC and its origins are most certainly not from God…at least the big “G” God. Its roots are tied to the calendar and seasons and have almost always been culturally and politically acceptable. In the 20th century, the practice and use of astrology has exploded and sadly, even among professing Christians. At the roots of astrology is a deep human desire to know the future and to explain the meaning and purpose of human life. Even the ancient Babylonians practiced astrology as far back as 1800 BC. The Babylonians used astrology as part of a divination or predicting of the future. It was believed that the gods presented themselves by their constellations and planets. Astrology has been practiced by almost every culture known to mankind and still is to this very day. It has been practice by politicians, actors, bankers, and cuts across almost every segment of society. There is even an American Association of Astrology as well as countless other groups and clubs dedicated to divining the future.

Horoscopes Origins

Billions of people worldwide check their horoscopes each and every day, and yes, even followers of Christ. Before I was saved I did too. I was born under the sign of Sagittarius and I used to look at what the daily horoscopes said that was predicted for me every day. For me they became known as the “horror-scopes” because I almost always dreaded reading what I believed to be my future. I could not have been more wrong. The problem with horoscopes is that they are all so general that they could apply to almost anyone born at any time of the year but I still believed that there was some relevance to them. Even today I hear people ask what sign they are with the intent of finding out what type of person they are or if a couple are compatible or not. Horoscopes are believed to have originated with the ancient Greeks. The word horoscope literally means “watcher of the hour.” The ancient Greeks believed that the sun, moon, and stars dramatically impacted their lives. And people today still believe that. The different signs are thought to be indicators of what a person is like. The problem with this is that it turns into a kind of fatalism.

Does God Condemn Horoscopes and Astrology

What does God say about horoscopes, astrology, predicting the future or trying to communicate with the dead? Plenty, but I have pared down to just using a few Scriptures to see how God feels about such satanic practices.

Deuteronomy 18:10-14 “There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.”

How clear is that!? God has not allowed us to do this. It is an abomination to God. That is, He detests it.

Isaiah 47:13 “You are wearied with your many counsels; let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon you.”

This verse deals specifically with trying to divine the future by using the stars, the moon, or the heavens (constellations).

Micah 5:12 “And I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more tellers of fortunes.”

Here God condemns fortune tellers. These include those who read palms, tea leaves, use tarot cards or any other device or practice that tries to predict a person’s future or fortunes.

God condemns the use of astrology and horoscopes for many reasons. For one thing, God alone knows the future. We have no business trying to divine what God has not clearly revealed in His Word. Deuteronomy 29:29 says “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” What has God revealed to us? He has revealed His will to us in the Word of God the Bible. We have no business in trying to divine or predict the unknown future. That is God‘s prerogative, not ours. Even if we tried, we’d likely be wrong anyway but the main reason is that it is an abomination to God. When we try to predict or know the future, we are impinging on God’s sovereignty and we are showing a lack of trust in Him.

Christians are treading on dangerous ground if they are reading and following horoscopes or astrology. Sadly I know of several professing Christians who do this. How seriously does God take it when we use anything or anyone that tries to communicate with the dead, predict the future, or seek counsel from anyone else but God? Here is a direct warning, not from me, but from the Word of God. First Chronicles 10:13-14 says that “Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance. He did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.” Take the Word of God with trembling and fear. God will not compromise with sin and the divination of the future by use of astrology or horoscopes makes Him righteously angry. Don’t go there. Not even for curiosity, “for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord” (Deuteronomy 18:12) for “the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this” (Deuteronomy 18:14).

God is sovereign. Things like astrology and luck are the creations of Satan.

Jack Wellman August 18, 2013 at 9:48 pm

Well said Steven. I wish I had said that but am glad you did. You are spot on my brother.

mooo November 25, 2018 at 1:40 pm

God created everything.

Jack Wellman November 25, 2018 at 3:01 pm

Friend, by telling others they are wrong to judge, you are yourself judging others. The Bible condemns divination and you see nothing wrong with it and to point out that this is sin is not judging but telling the truth. I pray you repent of this sin becasue it’s an abominatin to God.

David August 19, 2013 at 2:00 am

Jack I agree with your comments, What confuses me is Matt 2 vs 1 { the Amplified Bible calls them “wise men“/astrologers] is this a correct translation?

Jack Wellman August 19, 2013 at 9:27 am

Even if these men were astrologers, this would not mean that God condones or accepts this as not being sin. The literally translation is “wise men” and these men are rulers and if they are translated astrologers, it really means that they were more like astronomers. They were not divining or using evil powers or ways to discern where the new born King was at though. For more detailed information on this, please check out this article that explains “The Mystery of the Magi at:

Carol February 9, 2020 at 3:08 pm

They were at best Astronomers (which has nothing to do with Astrology). More likely is that they were scholars and scribes who navigated their journey by observing the placement of the celestial bodies… which has absolutely nothing to do with Astrology.

Jack Wellman February 9, 2020 at 3:31 pm

You are so right Carol. There is nothing wrong or sinful about astronomers who study the stars and so forth. Thank you for bringing up a very good point.

David August 19, 2013 at 11:18 am

Thank you. I certainly dont condone the use of astrology. I lived in Africa for more than 12 years and saw 1st hand the evil of this. And btw I have been born again for more than 35 years PTL. It is just I am praying against the powers and principalities of this and putting on the armour that Paul speaks about in Eph 5, you are not alone in condemning this evil, there are many here in Europe that share your concern. In Christ `s love, David

Jack Wellman August 19, 2013 at 6:40 pm

Thank you so much David for your encouragement. I love that you referenced that this is truly a spiritual battle we fight but are armed with the armor of God and for which we have necessity. I believe you see the power that is in prayer because of the One Who we pray too. Thank you sir.

mooo November 25, 2018 at 1:42 pm

You’re not supposed to judge.

David August 19, 2013 at 12:23 pm

For those who have read this post, there are really good teachings by Derek Prince and Don Basham on youtube concerning this. Blessings

Mimi August 20, 2013 at 9:58 am

i love this page i dont mind getting daily scriptural messages that will help my spiritual life to grow.

Nangamso August 21, 2013 at 4:11 pm

Im a spiritual beliver and i have to be honest i read my horoscope everyday before staring my day and gets frustrated if i dont read it coz i’ll be wondering the whole day if this was suppose to happen or not. i know i have read in the script that we should not be worried about our tomorrow or future for only god knows and he has taken care of it.
but in several times they have been true. in my case this year when i read the horoscope for 2013 it said the would be a new member in the family in june and at that time i was 4 months pregnant and yes my daughter was born in june. just that alone made me happy that its predections were true.

i dont know the bible that much and still finding my feet with the lord and his ways. today i must say i learnd a new thing that will help me walk in the right path with god. its gonna be hard but i’ll pray about it till i forget having the desire to read horosope. stay blessed.

Jack Wellman August 21, 2013 at 4:32 pm

Take heart Nangamso. Old habits die hard but who truly knows what is best for you and your future? God alone knows our future and He has the power to make it come true. God says that astrology and horoscopes are sin and so we don’t have any choice but to stop. Thank you so much for your honesty and your comment.

Karl Larson August 24, 2013 at 2:41 pm

Hi Jack,

Thank you for another great article! I love this site because you and the other writers tackle tough questions while also sharing the truth of our God in Heaven, His grace through our Lord Jesus Christ and the wonderful blessing of the Holy Spirit. May our Lord continue to bless you and all writers and readers of this site.

I recently learned of a YouTube posting titled, “The Most Logical RAPTURE Theory” (or close to that title). It’s about 35-40 minutes long and is quite interesting. I was wondering what your thoughts were on it.

My hope is to learn your thoughts and remove potential stumbling blocks from other Christians and pre-Christians.

Thank you for your study, guidance, and faith.

Jack Wellman August 24, 2013 at 2:45 pm

Thank you so kindly Mr. Larson. I will have to look into this rapture theory and with the title I can find it. I also appreciate your encouraging words my friend. As for a view on what the rapture may or may not be, we have an article on this subject at:

Karl Larson August 24, 2013 at 4:21 pm

Thank you for that link, Jack! It confirmed what so many us know and believe; that our “work” is to “believe on the One He (God) sent (Jesus Christ).

With so much division in the Church today, it is very easy for us to become confused and/or mislead. This is why we constantly need to be reminded that salvation is about believing in Jesus Christ and that God raised Him from the dead. He did all the work and freely gives the gift (grace) of eternal life (salvation) to those who trust and put their faith in Christ Jesus. “For it is by grace you have been saved – through faith – and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9).

Thank you for taking the time to respond and for looking into the YouTube video.

Blessings In Christ,

Jack Wellman August 24, 2013 at 4:27 pm

Mr. Larson, I thank you sir for caring enough to even want to know more about God and the end times too. I believe that whatever happens, our trust in Christ is what is the most important thing. I am so glad you came to visit us and please do come back again sir.

Nicholas August 27, 2013 at 5:46 am

Carol February 9, 2020 at 3:06 pm

you are absolutely right. The stars help to navigate by land and they were scholars, not astrologers. Too often those who wish to deceive conflate Astronomy (the study of stars and planets from a scientific point of view) with Astrology ( a non-scientific, made up form of divination)

Patricia Schneider October 21, 2013 at 4:52 pm

Hello, Pastor Jack!
Another wonderful article with Scriptures! Also appreciated what Steven (August 18, 2013) commented about “…creations of satan.”
(As you know, Pastor, I never capitalize satan’s name, simply ’cause he doesn’t deserve it.)

Been trying to steer a dear brother in Christ away from reading horoscopes. Needing God’s Word for proof that it was a sin, failed to find it when reading my Bible this morning. I DID remember that it was in God’s Word, but didn’t think to look in the Old Testament. Read the entire New Testament this morning (cause I do recall one of the Apostles saying something about mediums, etc. Yet, must have overlooked it by this bad habit of reading too fast.)
So, I then decided to check it out on “What Christians Want To Know.” MY COMPUTER FROZE UP!!! Grrr.
Gary called our Itok Service, a few hours later, all fixed! (Pastor Jack, Itok is worth every cent of $34/month, especially how I keep messing up on computer! LOL!)

I feel sooo blessed having WCWTK in my life.
Thank you for this terrific article!!! Please pray for my brother in Christ, Rex? Also that my words to him come directly from Jesus’ Holy Spirit?
God’s wonderful blessings and graces be showered upon you, Pastor Jack, your family, and your ministry!!!
Your Sis in Christ Jesus ~ Patty

Jack Wellman October 21, 2013 at 5:40 pm

Thanks Patty….your words are always a blessing to me and to others I am sure. Hey, I have the same problem…freezing up at times and its not my comptuer! Its when I am witnessing to others! 🙂 LOL I will be praying for Rex too by the way. God never gives us on us…..even on the prodigals.

Patricia Schneider October 21, 2013 at 6:44 pm

ESPECIALLY the prodigals!!! LOL!

katrina April 4, 2014 at 1:58 pm

This was just brought to my attention by social media
I will say I dont “check my horoscope” on a daily basis nor monthly..every blue moon as entertainment. But never would I think its “relaying future details”. Funny thing is sumtimes it will say the mood ur in and be correct. But If someone asked me my zodiac sign, I would tell them and the personality trait associated with my sign seemed correct. Thats really as far as it goes for me. So is the sin in the actual ” belief of astrology”, using it as a tool for future knowledge…or as in my case..seeing on an occasion if what this person wrote is correct. I always considered it to be just a person writing their opinion. We are all sinners and if just the act of reading it or ” calling myself a gemini” I dont want to intentionally sin. I asked a deconess and she said that u are to idolize anything. There are no other Gods. And only God can say what the future holds. But I was thinkn there were christians out there like me, just on a blue moon reading the entertainment. And not reading to “know the future” or worshiping stars or anything of that nature…just entertainment. And like I said I do say, geminis act similar…well ppl born in the month of I guess my question is, am I sinning by associating myself as a gemini and/or reading the horoscope at any time

Jack Wellman April 4, 2014 at 7:25 pm

Thank you Katrina…you will have to give an account to Jesus someday when He asks you why you read the horoscopes…violent movies are just for entertainment too but I do agree that believe in astrology is sin but I also know we are commanded to come out of her (the world system) my people in Revelation as a warning. Now the comic strips, that is entertainment that is harmless…so in answering your question, I believe we should not be involved with something that is of satanic origin but I can see why you may disagree with me. Each one must be convinced in his or her own conscience but I would be bothered by this because of some of the Bible verses are very strong in condemning this practice: Leviticus 19:31 – Isaiah 47:13 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from [these things] that shall come upon thee. Leviticus 19:31 – Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God. Micah 5:12
I will put an end to all witchcraft, and there will be no more fortune-tellers. Rev 18:4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues” so I would distance myself from these if I were you Karina. Thanks for the question.

Rajah February 23, 2015 at 1:19 pm

Sir, I am confused, I belive in God and accept Jesus Christ as my savior, but I do study astrology, not to predict the future, only to know the differences between different people. I’ve grown as a person since I started studying charts and honestly I didn’t get close to God or even pray before I started studying astrology. I understand what the word says, but I don’t understand why God would put astrology in my life if he condems it. that doesn’t make the smallest bit of sense to me. and again I promise you I never really worried about God or being religious until I started to study astrology and realized God has ways bigger than us to control how we interact with one another. I never even really read the bible until then. So why would God be mad at me for the whole reason I began to repent every sin I’d taken part in before that instance… help me

Rajah February 23, 2015 at 1:22 pm

I guess my question is are you sure he doesn’t only mean people who use astrology for future telling purposes and misleading others are wrong. and not those who use it for self growth?

Jack Wellman February 23, 2015 at 1:48 pm

Thank you Rajah for your question. God placed astrology before you? Really? He also places guns and poison and other such things in this world but you put astrology before you, not God. The Bible says that stars, along with the sun and moon, were given for “signs” and “seasons” (Genesis 1:14); that is, they were meant to mark time for us. They are also “signs” in the sense of navigational “indicators,” and all through history men have used the stars to chart their courses around the globe.

God used the stars as an illustration of His promise to give Abraham an innumerable seed (Genesis 15:5). Thus, every time Abraham looked up at the night sky, he had a reminder of God’s faithfulness and goodness. The final judgment of the earth will be accompanied by astronomical events relating to the stars (Isaiah 13:9-10; Joel 3:15; Matthew 24:29).

Astrology is the “interpretation” of an assumed influence the stars (and planets) exert on human destiny. This is a false belief. The royal astrologers of the Babylonian court were put to shame by God’s prophet Daniel (Daniel 1:20) and were powerless to interpret the king’s dream (Daniel 2:27). God specifies astrologers as among those who will be burned as stubble in God’s judgment (Isaiah 47:13-14). Astrology as a form of divination is expressly forbidden in Scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-14). God forbade the children of Israel to worship or serve the “host of heaven” (Deuteronomy 4:19). Several times in their history, however, Israel fell into that very sin (2 Kings 17:16 is one example). Their worship of the stars brought God’s judgment each time.

The stars should awaken wonder at God’s power, wisdom, and infinitude. We should use the stars to keep track of time and place and to remind us of God’s faithful, covenant-keeping nature. All the while, we acknowledge the Creator of the heavens. Our wisdom comes from God, not the stars (James 1:5). The Word of God, the Bible, is our guide through life (Psalm 119:105).

The Bible is all we need to study the differences between people….the two main people’s differences are those who believe in Christ and are saved (Acts 4:12) and those who are headed for hell (Rev 20:12-15). Are you willing to jeopardize your eternal destiny for the sake of simply “knowing the differences between different people?” Is that worth it?

Rajah February 23, 2015 at 1:56 pm

you are making perfect sense to me but I need to uunderstand why there are sites like this where people who believe in astrology obviously belive in god and the word

Rajah February 23, 2015 at 2:04 pm

My intentions are not to argue you, only to find the true full and whole truth because some places tell me it is only wrong to fully belive in astrology over god not to admit the validity in the practice, you’ve made complete sense I just want to make sure astrology is definetly wrong and not just bad intentions with it. my faith is just so strong I couldn’t bear to think I’ve been sinning this whole time

Jack Wellman February 23, 2015 at 2:15 pm

Thank you sir…No, I am not meaning to argue with you either sir…I am sorry if I came across that way. If so, I apologize. I read that article by that lady and there is not one Bible verse that supported her idea. Notice what she says quite often “I feel…and I believe” but God says clearly that it is sin. What a person feels or says or believes is not truth. God’s Word alone is truth. This woman is a false teacher because she doesn’t give even one single Bible verse to prove what she said…only a Bible verse that declared that it was God that created the heavens and the earth and that verse is about God as Creator not what we can do with the stars. I fear she is misleading many people my friend. I only want to help. It is not my opinion here but God’s Word declares it as sin. I hope this helps you my brother in Christ. Thank you for your humility in your response my friend.

Matthew Angelo March 25, 2015 at 11:19 am

I have a simple question, Pastor.

I have bought some books, magazines, booklets, etc. that have horoscope section. I never read those because I know that it is completely detestable to the Lord. I did not buy those to know the predicition about my zodiac sign. It is just there. Do you suggest that I tear the page that contains these information? If I do so, the book/magazine, as a whole, might be completely torn. But I keep those for future references. What is your take about this?

Jack Wellman March 25, 2015 at 11:44 am

What kind of books or magazines are they that would have horoscopes in them? What are the titles? Are they worldly? Are they worth reading over the Bible? I don’t think they’d be worth keeping my friend.

Matthew Angelo March 25, 2015 at 12:15 pm

Bible is definitely more worth reading than these. The books and magazines contain the topic that catches my interest, because these will somehow be related with the job that I really wanna have. Even the newspapers. Here in the Philippines, even the cheapest newspapers (we call it tabloid) have horoscope. They even have clairvoyants as some of their columnists that interpret the dreams of their followers (sent either through SMS or snail mail). But I stopped buying those. Even the formal newspapers here have this fortune-telling/horoscope thing. I know that it is unavoidable because majority of my countrymen are really fanatics. And this considerably one of the things that really sells (aside from pornography, stories of crimes, etc). Do you think in the eyes of God it is okay to have those as long as I don’t read them at all, because I don’t have even a single faith on that thing?

Jack Wellman March 25, 2015 at 12:17 pm

I think in this case, God will permit that…since you seek to know more about a job in the future and yes, it does seem unavoidable.

Matthew Angelo March 25, 2015 at 12:27 pm

Thank you, Pastor. But regarding lucky charms, like Feng Shui (Chinese lucky charms are well-patronized here), rosaries, charms from faith healers, I have already disposed them (but I think there is still one that I need to destroy, sorry). For I know that these paraphernalias emit satanic energy.

michaela March 25, 2015 at 9:21 pm

Thank you for this very well written article. I looked up this subject for a new friend of mine who I recently found out reads horoscopes daily. I used to read mine years ago and before I even knew it was listed as a sin in the Bible I really felt the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart to stop reading horoscopes so I did and never missed them at all. its sad that ppl look to the stars for guidance instead of the maker of the stars… I have another question, so most of my friends are Christians. now I have this new friend (opposite gender) who isn’t Christian and reads his horoscopes and such. I was wondering do you think its ok to be friends with someone who doesn’t share our faith in Christ? Am I being uptight? Granted we are just friends but getting fairly close just wanted some other opinions. Thanks

Jack Wellman March 25, 2015 at 9:26 pm

Thank you Michaela…great observations. If you really want to do what is right, I suggest you don’t get too close and no, you’re not being too uptight. Let me suggest you read this article called “Unequally Yoked? Meaning, Scriptures and Lesson” at: and a follow up one called “What Does Unequally Yoked Mean in the Bible?” at: and let the Bible make that decision for you my friend. I hope they help. This is a very, very important subject.

Matthew Angelo March 30, 2015 at 8:24 am

Hello there, Michaela. I just wanna share with you my common practice when I am with my non-Christian friends (or with my friends that were disappointed with the religion/co-Christians, etc) . I still hang out with them, enjoy fun times together. I never let them feel that I am not friends with them anymore just because my beliefs somehow contradict their norms. I just see to it that I will never compromise my faith just to satisfy them. Some of them understand, some of them don’t. You can do the exact same thing. Do not let them feel that you don’t want to be with them just simply because your practice is different from his (for your situation it is horoscope that he believes). Search in your heart the love that wants to share Jesus’ love for Him. Then do your part. Tell him how God loves Him so much that He wants him to feel the same love you do. After all, all of us were once His enemies. Our all practices and beliefs (of any form or kind) are detestable in His eyes. But He made a way to restore the life that we once lost (through the blood of Jesus). And I know that God wants you to share with him His love. And I also know that you want him to be saved since you are friends with Him. If he rejects you (or God’s love) continue to pray for him. And let God do the saving. I hope this helps. Thank you.

And as your brother in faith, I don’t want you to have that kind of burden. Search in your heart the love that wants to share Jesus’ love for Him. Then do your part. Arie April 6, 2015 at 4:13 pm

Hi pastor,

I read your article and I do believe that you’re right….I for one believe that only GOD knows my future, even though I don’t read/believe astrology, I do however find that there’s some truth in sun signs and zodiac…it’s not to tell the future but perhaps to get to know yourself better….I recently stumbled upon reading my own zodiac “Taurus” after so many years not believing into this kind of stuff….I was shocked to find that the article feels like it’s written for me. Then, I read about my wife’s zodiac “Cancer”…again it describes her personality accurately. ..I then proceeded to read about our zodiac compatibility and my jaw drops, it’s like the article has been describing our relationship’s at least 80% accurate.

So I wonder what do you think about that? It can’t be a coincidence that the zodiacs article describes me and my wife’s love life that accurately. It makes me understand who we are as a person better.

Jack Wellman April 6, 2015 at 4:37 pm

Thank you Arie for your comment. Do you think if there is 80% on how to get to Tulsa, Oklahoma, you’d still follow directions? Astrologies are so ambiguous that they can be right much of the time because they are so general and broad. Can’t we or shouldn’t we rather use the Bible to get to know ourselves better? You said that we should know ourselves better but the Word of God discerns out thoughts and intents down to the marrow and joints (Heb 4:12) and that’s good enough for me. What zodiac can do that? The Bible says trying to come out of her my people and take not part in her sins (Rev 18:4) and that’s a very serious thing, as you can read in Revelation 18 to what happens to those who don’t. I wrote this to warn people that it is not my opinion that its wrong but God’s Word says so. You asked me “what do you think about that?” but I answered more importantly in this article what God thinks my brother…I have serious concerns about it. All truth, all we need to know is written in the Bible. The source of those who write astrologies are pagan’s and not from God. 80% true is still not enough reason to read it. Just as half a lie is still a whole lie, right? That’s what Satan does…mixes truth with error to deceive. Every pastor and every one of my seminary professors and my older, retired pastor mentor says stay far, far away from these things. I hope I have helped.

En May 1, 2015 at 12:04 pm

Hi sir,

I stumbled upon your article today and what you wrote made sense to me. My horoscope is a Pisces, and although I do not believe in what horoscopes predict, I find the description of those born under the sign of Pisces very accurate, almost as if it was written based on myself. I find it very hard to believe that horoscopes are written by men and is the result of pure guesswork. The accuracy seems too coincidental to be a guess, and I was just wondering if horoscopes were assisted by Satan. If so, does that mean that horoscopes are completely false? Some predictions in the horoscope was something I would like to happen, but I know I should not put any faith in it, but I still have a small hope it is true. Thank you for your time.

Jack Wellman May 1, 2015 at 3:08 pm

Hello En. Thank you for your question or comment. Your “small hope” is in the wrong thing my friend. Do you really want to follow a Satan-assisted system and have a “small hope” know the source is evil? You will have to answer to God. Clearly the Bible forbids trying to discern the future. If you have never repented and trusted in Christ but would rather trust in horoscopes, I fear for you my friend. I say this in love. If God’s Word calls it sin, why would you want anything to do with it? God shows us enough of our future and that is in heaven (Rev 22,23) but those who try to divine or find the future from any other source but from God will always have doubts as to whether they are saved or not. The very reason you looked this up on the Internet shows me you are not sure so why not avoid it altogether?

Drew May 6, 2015 at 10:17 am

I have to admit that I am not a big believer of astrology myself but at the same time I don’t shun it. Can’t say I have ever used it to influence my decisions but this discussion has opened my eyes to God’s will. Does the bible say what the punishment is for reading the stars? For example what happened to the wise men who followed a star to the site of the nativity? Furthermore, why would God allow such abominations to be present at such an important and beautiful event?

Jack Wellman May 6, 2015 at 12:28 pm

Thank you Drew for your comment and I am glad you’re not a “big fan” of horoscopes. Does this mean you read them? The wise men were not in any way associated with horoscopes at all. The Star of Bethlehem is associated with the visit of the magi (wise men) from the East as recorded in Matthew 2:1-12. The text implies the Star appeared only to the magi in the East (the “East” most likely being the area of Persia, or modern-day Iran). There is no biblical record of anyone else observing this phenomenon. The magi saw something in the heavens that alerted them the Jewish Messiah was to be born (in Matthew 2:2 the magi refer to the star as being “His star”). The Star prompted them to travel to Jerusalem, the Jewish capital. This would be the logical place to start looking for the birth of the King of the Jews.

The Greek word that is translated “star” in the text is the word aster, which is the normal word for a star or a celestial body. The word is used 24 times in the New Testament, and most of the time it refers to a celestial body. It can be used to denote angels, as in Revelation 12:4, where it is used to describe the fallen angels who followed Satan’s rebellion. However, aster is used in the sense of “a celestial body” in Matthew 2. Basic rules of biblical interpretation state that we should take the normal sense of the word unless there is compelling evidence to suggest otherwise. In fact, many interpreters have done as much by suggesting a natural explanation for the Star of Bethlehem. Their suggestions range from calling it a supernova or a comet to saying it was the conjunction of several celestial bodies which provided a brighter-than-normal light in the sky. However, there is compelling evidence to suggest that the Star of Bethlehem was not a natural stellar phenomenon, but something unexplained by science. That evidence lies in what we’ve noted above. First, the fact that the Star only appeared to the magi indicates that this was no ordinary star. Furthermore, the magi traveled to Jerusalem because they were looking for the sign of the Messiah. How would Persian magi know about the Jewish Messiah? They would have been exposed to the writings of the Jewish prophet Daniel, who had been the chief of the court seers for Persia. In Daniel 9:24-27 is a prophecy that gives a timeline for the birth of the Messiah. Also, they may have been aware of the words of the pagan prophet Balaam (who was from the town of Pethor on the Euphrates River near Persia) in Numbers 24:17. Balaam’s prophecy specifically mentions a “star coming out of Jacob.” Finally, celestial bodies normally move from east to west due to the earth’s rotation, yet this Star led the magi from Jerusalem south to Bethlehem. Not only that, but it led them directly to the place where Joseph and Mary were staying, stopping directly overhead. There is no natural stellar phenomenon that can do that.

So, if the normal usage of the word “star” doesn’t fit the context, what does? What we likely have in Matthew 2:1-12 is a manifestation of the Shekinah Glory. The Shekinah, which literally means “dwelling of God,” was the visible presence of the Lord. The most notable appearance of the Shekinah is recorded in Exodus 13:21. The Shekinah was the pillar of cloud that led the Israelites by day and the pillar of fire that led them by night. The Shekinah fits all of the biblical evidence available in Matthew 2:1-12. The Shekinah can appear to specific individuals, it can disappear and re-appear, it was seen in connection with Christ’s ministry (e.g., Matthew 17:5; Acts 1:9), and it can lead people to specific locations. It shouldn’t surprise us that God would use a miraculous sign to signal the advent of His Son, the Messiah, into the world.

The fact is that God did not use an abominations to be present at such an important and beautiful event for God never does nothing abominable or has anything to do with sin. Does this make sense Drew?

Drew May 6, 2015 at 3:09 pm

Thanks so much Jack for your response. This does make sense and while the question stemmed from Deuteronomy 18:10-14 and its warning against trying to interpret omens, it isn’t a stretch to say they were seeing prophecy play out as opposed to interpreting omens. I have lots of questions quite often and must admit that the other sources that I have gone to with my questions have not come close to answering me in such a coherent well thought out manner. As such, I really appreciate the time and consideration you put into providing me with a response.

Personally, I can’t say that I go looking for my horoscope but I don’t shun them either. Generally I’ve been exposed to them when others decide to read them to me, but I can’t say that I have never read one. I have never gone to astrology or the occult when faced with a decision and haven’t applied the information contained in horoscopes to my life or my decision making process. Sometimes I think I would not have ended up in such a mess had I paid attention to the signs and omens that have come to me, but my point of view has always been that this is my life and I need to do what feels right on the inside irregardless of what happens around me.

Thanks again for your insight.

Jack Wellman May 6, 2015 at 4:21 pm

Thank you as well Drew for your kind response and a very good observation and question and I love that you want to learn more.

Heather June 27, 2015 at 8:43 pm

What if you are not using horoscopes and astrology to predict he future? I enjoy reading about the personality traits that a lot of people with the a certain sign seem to have. But I have never thought of that as telling the future. More like just insight on the present.

Jack Wellman June 28, 2015 at 4:48 pm

Thank you Heather for the question. Do you know who the source is of the astrology? Why would you want to read something that God forbids just because you enjoy it? Why not read the Bible and enjoy it and not worry about disobedience to God?

Winston Dehaney September 24, 2015 at 11:20 am

Hello friends. I know many persons might be saying that these predictions come true. According to the word of God, Satan can do wonders, even causing fire to come down from heaven. These fallen beings can shape the destiny that these horoscopes predict.
God wants to be the one who shapes our future. And He wants to give us a prosperous one in Him (3 John 1:2). He calls us to seek first His Kingdom, and Righteousness, and He will be faithful in providing for us and giving us eternal life in Him (Matthew 6:33).

Two parties can be in control of our future. Do we follow the devil’s predictions over our lives, or the Lord’s own? The question is not about if these horoscope things come true, or help to better our lives. It is about who is prophesying and shaping our future; who gets the credit of our life. Remember calls Satan the “father of lies” (John 8:44) and a deceiver. Jesus is the Truth that will make us free from the control of sin and its instigator (John 8:31-36, John 14:6).

Clare December 1, 2015 at 5:34 am

hi Jack, I am a christian myself and have been a follower of the descriptions of each of the zodiac signs for some time now but certainly do not believe in or follow the future telling part of it. I was just wondering if looking at the descriptions would be frowned upon by God too?
Thanks heaps

Jack Wellman December 1, 2015 at 5:18 pm

Hello Clare. I know that the source of these things is not of God so personally, I wouldn’t even want to look at them. Replace that time with reading a chapter in the Bible. Do you think God would like it? May God richly bless you friend, whatever you decide to do.

Jolee January 16, 2016 at 9:48 pm

Wow. God couldn’t make it any plainer.

omoba January 22, 2016 at 9:23 am

Thanks Pastor Jack for this wonderful article. I am a christian but sometimes do check horoscope sites out of curiosity. I have been bothered to know if this pleases God. Now I have seen and heard the truth of this matter. I promise never to visit such sites again. May God help me. amen

Jack Wellman January 22, 2016 at 10:46 am

Praise God my friend. So wonderful. I will pray for you my friend.

Desmond Joseph February 29, 2016 at 3:19 am

Very Very True, How can one follow the stars and astrology, the stars and astrology have no religion, The truth and Fact is when a human being is sick, in trouble and nearing to death, end of the day we think and pray to GOD through Jesus christ.

Mark June 16, 2016 at 10:21 pm

Is it too late for me now?

Z June 18, 2016 at 9:22 am

Blessings, I needed to check on this matter once again as I found myself in an conversation with a Christian who believes in astrology and says we have to understand we have characteristics of the zodiac and has nothing to do with God or spirituality. We were born like this and and God made us with good/bad attitude. Since this gathering I have been under spiritual attack and went in prayer asking God forgiveness for the soul of this person. God took me out of the life of astrology and new age and made me a new person and a born-again Christian, and here I have a Christian telling me to believe in astrology and follow these teachings. God forgive their souls.

Jack Wellman June 18, 2016 at 9:41 am

Those who are into astrology are not into God because it is clearly obvious this is evil so just pray for your friends. That’s all you can do. I am glad you came out of it “Z” and that you care for other Christians enough to try to warn them.

Jq July 5, 2016 at 9:56 am

I took a look at my horoscope reading and it’s prediction on my personality and it’s completely true. As a Christian I am pretty curious why is it so, as I do believe in god but the horoscope just seems true.

Jack Wellman July 5, 2016 at 10:22 am

Horoscopes are so general as to almost always be true but that doesn’t mean they are the truth for their source is not from God but from Satan and you still insist in reading them? Why? Do you trust them more than the Bible? Has your pastor approved of this? These horoscopes are so general or generic that it can be like “You’ll meet someone new today” (which can happen any day!) or “you’ll have some good/bad (just fill in the blank) today.” Since the Bible teaches that these things are an abomination to God, you still think it’s okay? A yield sign is true too but if you fail to yield you can be killed. Please read the verses again about these detestable things and see if you still think it’s okay, because clearly, it is sin.

Maria July 6, 2016 at 9:42 am

Hi I hope you will still be responding to comments.. I am a bit worried because I believed in the zodiac personality traits for a long time and I have been trying to get closer with God lately it has been a fairly difficult journey so far but my partner is supposed to be an incompatible sign to mine, and it worries me as I am no longer wanting to believe that our zodiac signs tell wether or not we are a good match but it’s difficult when it seems accurate in some ways. And I was believing it for a long time. I have also been struggling with all the questions in my mind about God. Why is it that many people I know who are good friends happen to have compatible zodiac signs? It makes me so discouraged !

Jack Wellman July 6, 2016 at 9:51 am

Hello Maria and thank you for your comment but let me say again horoscopes are so general as to almost always be true but that doesn’t mean they are the truth for their source is not from God but from Satan and you still insist in reading them? Maria July 9, 2016 at 8:29 am

Hi, thank you for your response. I do not want to follow zodiac signs anymore. But it’s a thing of my past and i am still struggling to decide wether or not I should believe it or not. I do not want to believe that zodiac signs can tell wether or not my partner and I are a good match, but it just seemed accurate at the time about our personality traits. And it just plays on my mind. I just don’t understand what is with all the coincidences all the people I know seem to be friends with people who are compatible zodiac signs. It’s awful to think that friendships and relationships could be determined by zodiac signs. I wish I could find a way to discredit it. I want to believe in God totally and not zodiac traits. I would hope that God wouldn’t design for some to be compatible and others not to be based on stars.

Ella August 6, 2016 at 2:06 pm

I love how this article addresses the issue of Astrology and Horoscopes because I used to be curious and study them as well as Numerology knowing that it was a sin to believe in it, but I did so anyways.
But I always took it with a grain of salt just incase, I got too carried away with it because I know as a Christian we aren’t supposed to dwell in such activities. Recently, I’ve been taking the bible literally again like we’re supposed too after visiting the creation museum and Noah’s ark museum in KY.
I’m glad how you added scripture verses to the passages because when my mom and I had a long talk with my cousin he was talking about how “he thought Astrology had a lot to do with God” basically saying that it’s not a sin” even though it is. I just shocked at what he thought. Because people in my family always said, he knew a lot about the bible. But it was as if he didn’t believe in God’s true word.
It was just crazy. I now know that I can try to stay true to the word of God and not fall into doing these things ever again. I was never really too big on Horoscopes that much, but I was into the other things. But now, I’m back on the right track in not following them.

Jack Wellman August 6, 2016 at 2:15 pm

Thank you Ella…beautiful testimony.

Dana September 26, 2016 at 10:10 pm

I am aware that this is an old post but am looking for clarification. I do not follow horoscopes but do have a Capricorn page liked on Facebook. It does not attempt to predict the future but rather talks about what kind of people Capricorns are. While it could easily apply to anyone, it defines me, a Capricorn, to a T. For me it’s more about personality rather than discussion/prediction of the future. So does that mean that I technically “follow” astrology?

Jack Wellman September 27, 2016 at 8:18 am

You would rather follow a Satan-inspired thing than the Word of God? Why? God’s word says it is sin, not me, so you must not care how God feels about this because the BIble condemns is.

Sophia September 29, 2016 at 6:46 am

Hello. Thank you for this. I never knew this was wrong in God eyes. I recently got a Reading for my Bf and I since him and I are having issues and I learned that him and I will bring up and he will carry a child next year, and even certain things about myself I learn that seems accurate. How do I now reverse this now knowing this was wrong. I am asking for forgiveness and also for all this to not come true. Is it too late?

Jack Wellman September 29, 2016 at 8:38 am

Hello Sophia. It is never too late as long as you confess your sin to God (1 John 1:9). But if you continue to read and follow these horoscopes, it shows God that you reall trust them more than God.

Sophia D September 29, 2016 at 10:47 am

Pardon the duplicate. You are right. I will work on this. Please pray for me. I am really hurting cause of this and asking for prayer of reconciliation between him and I and trusting more that God will work this all out.

Jack Wellman September 29, 2016 at 11:12 am

Yes, I will pray for you Sophia. Don’t give up hope because God doesn’t give up on us.

rt September 30, 2016 at 1:40 am

I’m a strong believer and lover of Jesus Christ. For years I have read horoscopes and thought the astrologer Jonathan Cainer was a gifted man whom God gave us to help us through horoscopes. My conscience has been tugging at me, wondering if horoscopes could be the work of satan, giving us just enough to toy with us, keep us believing and hooked. The predictions have been so right and so wrong over the years, many were dead on yet they failed to follow through leaving me more disappointed, frustrated and confused. Jonathan Cainer was recently taken by God which got me thinking, God DID NOT WANT us to have Jonathan Cainer.

After reading the info here I do not want to read another horoscope ever again. It just dawned on me the stars, planets , their alignments and precise movements likely do have a wonderful purpose that GOD USES to care about sooooo many people, personalities and situations. Humans should not be messing around with God’s system thinking we are smart enough to understand and decode it. satan wants humans to think we are capable of this because satan wants humans to get it wrong, or in this case get it partially right juuuust enough to keep people believing and sinning with partial truths that cannot be relied upon on a consistent basis. I understand and believe now why humans messing around with horoscopes makes God so furious and satan so happy since horoscopes have become so popular, accepted and seemingly harmless to dabble with.

I get it now! Thank-you, all of you, for helping one more person say no more! Dear God, I am so very sorry and will repent for being a fool for so long.

tinapret October 14, 2016 at 2:50 am

i was going to request for a reading from the astrologers due to the recent challenges in my life but the spirit of God wont let me. so it ministered to me to ask the Holyspirit which i did. the next day i googled Christianity and horoscopes or astrology and i got to this page. i read through every page and got to understand that God has not permitted me to read the Horoscopes because it is Sin against God according to the scriptures in Deuteronomy 18 vrs 14. Godbless you all for the post, most especially the writter of this page. Amen.

Ava November 14, 2016 at 1:09 am

I went through a very difficult time period and I lost God. I was so hurt and confused and in so much pain I just needed answers about why such bad things happen and I wanted answers right away thinking that would stop the hurt. I watched many horoscope videos based on signs, just looking for answers. They had me happy one minute, sad the next, feeling doomed in another minute and making me feel like life will be all roses and flowers the next. They can be so accurate, but never completely accurate. It really is truth mixed with deceits. Just enough truth to have you convinced, just enough truth in them to make you believe so that you can start believing the lies that could hurt your soul. They want you to believe they really do know all, but they don’t know. They just know enough to lead you astray. Only God knows all. After watching a lot over a two-week period I found God again. Those videos made me realize that I am strong and that I need God in my life always, and that is the way always. They made my faith in God stronger, they made my trust in him and his words stronger because why would I want such paltry, insignificant, things when I can have God. These horoscope just showed me that there are no real answers outside of myself and outside of my relationship with God. There are just no answers that horoscopes can give that aren’t deceptive, leaving you with even more questions than answers and that are so fickle that they change from person to person, day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute. Only God have the answers. Only God is unchanging. Only God have your best interest at heart. Those horoscopes…They really do not. And now I must ask God for forgiveness and stay away from those insignificant things. Praise be to God.

john November 16, 2016 at 8:46 pm

I have a question, if a zodiac chart is used to assess personality without predicting the future, then I don’t believe this would be against the Bible?. Also a great deal of astrologers don’t think of the planets as Gods just as time markers for events.
All the quotes I have seen against predictions are in the Old testament, yet the 3 wise men followed the star, is this a contradiction with the old testament?.

Ralph Rodriguez December 3, 2016 at 12:46 am

Hi,to all who in their hearts and Minds have concluded that Jesus is the son of God and that Yahweh himself in the world has given us all the necessary guidance through his son Christ Jesus a road map to Salvation he has shed his blood and conquered death an sin!Remember as God says,Let all who can here, listen,an all who can see, look for God has created all things, here on Earth as it is also in the Heavens.God has numbered the stars as he has preordained each of our lives,in His Heavenly Kingdom!!Yes there are also, publishers who have translated the NIV Bible and it is documented that they have left over 64 thousand words and even complete verses left out the Bible. God warns us not to take away or add to his word. There are articles that you can find in regards to this matter. There are also other Bibles that have seem to done the same thing! The NIV Bible authors have also published books for groups that support gay and lesbian homosexual supporters and also satanic spiritual books as Christians we must be aware not to support publishing companies that support these types of books. This is only my personal view as a Christian supporting God’s true word!

Sil December 15, 2016 at 6:06 am

Jack, after breaking up with my husband and falling into depression I started studying astrology in order to be able to predict the future and find answers to my pain. I became a rather competent astrologer and I can say that he daily horoscope is a joke compared to how deep astrology can go. I was born Catholic and have always been a strong believer, but I wasn’t aware of God’s view of astrology. I justified it to myself thinking that since God created the Universe, astrology was a tool for Him to communicate to us. After predicting a few horrible events for myself I started praying the Lord (through the help of Saint Giudas Taddeus) to make those predictions untrue. Somehow I was asked or pushed by some force to quit astrology completely and put my life in God’s hands instead. And so I have done, though at times I still fear for what I saw. I hope God forgives me and helps me.

Jack Wellman December 15, 2016 at 8:33 am

Hello Sil. I know as long as a person is still breathing, there is hope. God never gives up on us, otherwise He would have given up on me long ago. I noticed you prayed “through Saint Taddeus.” Jesus tells us to only pray through His name and no other because there is no other Mediator to the Father than thru Jesus Christ alone.

V December 17, 2016 at 3:06 am

Sil read closely. Do not give any importance to what was estimated about your future. It is hard but listen. Predictions are very manipulative. There is a force working behind the predictions and that force knows just enough about you to play with your mind. For you I see it this way. The force behind the prediction knew that it would lose you, knows that you would be pushed by something to stop and knew that you would listen and research more. The only way that it could somewhat ensure that you would be tempted enough to come back is to send you terrible predictions that you can’t handle so either you would have to go back to it to get more predictions hoping that they get better so that you can feel better, or the predictions would impact you so negatively it would make you miserable for a very long time. Goodness this sounds like a prediction but this is just a feeling I had. Do not go back to it. Do not make it win, do not make it mess with you, your mind or your life! You have so much more power over your life than it does and it knows this and it does not want you to know this. That force does not exist without you. It needs you, you do not need it, in fact it can only hurt you. Only you and God can create your future. Do good, let go of things that are not of God, look at everything that hurts you as a gift from God to grow stronger for the better that will come into your life. The stronger you grow, the bigger your reward and the more precious your responsibilities. You are/were in a painful place . Heartache and pain is just not something we get taught enough about the impact and how to deal with it without tearing ourselves apart looking for fast answers. We really need a daily Christ manual on how to deal with heartache and pain. Sometimes hearing that God loves you, that he wants the best for you and to have faith in him and your future does not cut through the pain and heartache but it works. Know that God is with you and is carrying you through this difficult time and towards a better future. There is no reason to fear. Believe in him, believe that he has the best in store for you and let him take care of you. I too am sitting here cheering you on! Just lots of love to you Sil!

Andrew December 21, 2016 at 9:36 am

I am a child of god that only wanted to know what their intentional “home planet” was and what their element would be. I don’t read or listen to my horoscope when it comes to anything other than those 2 things, I didn’t understand that it was a sin. My apologies to god for committing this sin.

Jack Wellman December 21, 2016 at 10:39 am

Hello Andrew. I know we all sin (1 John 1:8, 10) but God forgives us of all of our sins when we confess them brother (1 John 1:9). Take heart. God forgives.

I love Jesus! February 6, 2017 at 3:49 pm

I have the same question and concern and John who posted on Nov 2016. I use astrology by no means to predict my future or anyone else’s, I do not believe it that and know for sure that would be highly against God’s will. But I use zodiac signs as a way to better communicate with people’s personalities. I often can tell someone’s sign right off the bat, and even tell them, “you are a fire sign… a Leo!” The person will say, “how did you know” and I will respond with their characteristics resemble a fire sign and you feel like a Leo.” I don’t do this often, but I find using the zodiac helps me to be able to relate with people and communicate in life with people and understand “our differences” if we have them, and it usually based off of zodiac traits. I also study the cycle of the moon which shifts into a different zodiac every 2 days or so, and the sun which shifts every 25 days or so. The shift in the moon and the sun over the course of life has a huge impact on how someone can feel or be or react throughout the course of the day in correlation with their own zodiac birth sign. By no means do I go into predictions or would run far away from fortune tellers or psychics or anything of that nature. But studying the very basics of the moon and sun cycles in accordance with my own zodiac sign, has really helped me to understand more about who I am and how I relate to other people and their zodiac signs. I am a Capricorn, and I have noticed over the course of years, that when I am dealing with a person who ends up thinking I am “too harsh” or too “disciplinary” or feel I have a “lack of empathy” for someone (which can be dominate Capricorn traits when we are in work mode, Capricorns like structure and discipline and are very goal-orientated) I always tend to find out this person is a water sign, and water signs are the most unstructured and emotional zodiac signs… they are water and fluid, but Capricorns are earth and solid, so water signs tend to get “easily hurt” in the presence of an earth or even a fire sign, so I use this to help to improve relationships with people, and when I realize this person is a water sign, and will most often take things very personally because there reaction is usually emotional over logic, I tend to become more soft and less “rigid” per se in order to have better communication. So that is what I use astrology for, I am a Christian and believe Jesus Christ is my only Lord and Savior who died on the cross for my sins and is God’s only son who came to save the world, including myself and believe in order to get to the Father, one must only go to Jesus first. I am a strong believer in Jesus, and Jesus as being my only “idol” the only one I call on for help and the only one I repent to or pray to. So I question my own question, and can never seem to get a straight answer from anyone, so I continue the way I believe around the zodiac, believing it is a gift of God and that is how God created the earth and humanity, each person is unique according to the moment they were born under certain placement of the moon and the stars. But when people use that to then try and predict there future or other peoples future’s, that’s where I believe it is a sin and strictly prohibited under the teachings of Gods Word.

I guess we can agree to disagree, but many of your comments trouble me deeply sir. For one thing, you never mentioned repentance. Has your church ever taught on what true repentance is? Jesus said the gospel includes repentance and faith or belief (Mark 1:15). If you could click on “Contact Us” and I can tell you where there are hidden dangers in the activities and beliefs you have sir. Please take no offense because none is intended.

I am not offended at all, please feel free to address on the “hidden dangers”… and I am very familiar with repentance. What would I need to repent on? I feel that the term “astrology” is used as a term to describe people who use the “moon and the stars to predict the future” and I have no interest in doing so whatsoever.

what if we use the astrological and numerology aganist the devil and protect the world and to protect god’s views and ways

Thank you Tyler and hello my friend. I think to use something evil to help God is wrong and the Bible commands we are not to have anything to do with it, so there are no other options as far as God is concerned, according to the Word of God. Satan’s already been defeated and judged ahead of time (Rev 20), so God doesn’t need our help.
