22 Awesome Bible Verses for College Students

When a student enters college they are sometimes exposed to things that they have never experienced before and so it is great to know that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). That’s why when we look for Bible verses for college students we can look to verses that we have grown to love from the first time we were introduced to the Bible. Here are 22 awesome Bible verses for college students.

Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Be courageous in the Lord – Walk with Him

Bible Verses For Colledge Students

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge

Joshua 1:9 “…Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

1 Kings 8:57 The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us

Psalms 25:1-5 O you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. Make me to know your ways, O Lord;  teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58  Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Be careful to remember to let your light shine

Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord,  and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Mark 12:29-30 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

1 John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Gain knowledge in the Lord

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;  fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 17:27 Whoever restrains his words has knowledge,  and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

Rest in the Lord

Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Isaiah 40:30-31 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Keep an attitude of humility and servitude

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,

Titus 2:7-8 Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

Hello Bongi, I am so glad that you found the word of God to be so wonderful — I quite agree. Come back again anytime we are continuously posting new things. My daughter did a short term missionary trip to South Africa several years ago and she was 18 years old then. She immediately fell in love with your people. She has also introduced me to a lovely tea called rooibos tea. She said every time she drinks it she is reminded of the people she loves in South Africa. I thought I would share that with you. You see, although you are far from where I live, we have a common bond; it is a sisterhood in Jesus. Blessings to you Bongi.

These are great!! I’m also trying to find bible verses FOR PARENTS about letting our children go (to college). Verses to help us remember that there is a time that they MUST leave us and it’s ok.

Pamela Rose Williams August 30, 2012 at 11:21 am

Hi Lori,

I like Galatians 4:1-5:

“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”

Just as “God set forth his Son” at the appointed time … parents must “let go” of their children also. It is however, the parents’ (fathers’) decision as to when that time is right. Parents must train up their children to be able to live independently of them before they send them off to college.

I hope this is helpful to you. Remember your parents love you like no one else on this earth. They are most likely just trying to protect you. I know this because I have grown children and when our youngest left the nest it was very, very hard — but necessary.

Hi Pam, I just found your website. It was uplifting to see so many Christians connecting and realizing the Lord is the most important thing in our lives.
I was going to ask if there are certain bible verses you could steer me to about family. I am looking to to a painting with bible verses about family. As I see so many confused about what God has ordained, I think something like this would be helpful. Perhaps if you find time, you can send me something.
Thanks for being a blessing to so many. Trish

My dear friends, brothers and sisters please do understand, one can never serve God and Mammon, well i’m in college right now and i’m studying only for the need of knowledge and nothing else, not even a slightest desire to earn money, Christ could have said no one can serve God and Satan, but to make the people understand the true relationship between Satan and world he used the word mammon or wealth, in more direct terms… MONEY. Friendship with the world is enemity with God, blessed are the poor, woe to you o rich, these latter verses confirms the former.

I delight in my heart to have just found your Bible verses for college students Pamela! What a gift you are to others. I believe I found your site by design – not chance, because I see that I need them especially at this hour of my life. I’ve selected several that are encouraging to me and taped them up on my home study desk. I’m an adult mom, early 50’s, widow, who has returned to college these past several semesters, to fulfill a life personal dream I had not been able to do all my life, and my doing so has not come without its sacrifices. I await God to direct further my path of study and work, and trust in his promise. School brings me great joy, and God has helped me become an Honor student which gives me great happiness and smiles from my proud children. My youngest daughter lives with me (also attends college) having just graduated from high school, is a remarkable young woman whom I pray for daily for our Lord to bless and guide her life path. As her mom, if need be, I will forfeit my furthering college before I’d ever let her withdraw. I’m grateful for all the blessings Heavenly Father has given us thus far through our strife. It’s a miracle to me, mixed with hard work, ambition, and determination. May I humbly ask for prayer that God bless me to find employment for myself to help us (we are barely getting by) so I can keep our home, and attend college to finish a degree. So many doors have remained shut in my life … there’s got to be doors that God will open for me, and show me where and what he wants me to be — for him?

Thank you for posting these blessed Scriptures! I have been asked to take on the encouragement ministry for the college students from the small church I attend, sending them occasional short notes of good cheer and His Word. These Scriptures are just right and will undoubtedly be a blessing to the young people. Thank you for your help! :)

I shouted angrily at Jesus on my way home today, for putting me in a place I don’t fit in.

And then I read these verses.

Can I doubt in him again?

Never.

God Bless you SOOO much for putting these up.

Great Job!!! Simply An AMAZING ARTICLE. I love the use of multiple scriptures, and having almost not as much interference with own thoughts too much. As often authors give too much of what they believe and don’t leave it up the bibles depiction. Then again i shouldn’t judge. But i’m a University Student, and i’m glad that i read this article!! Thanks you sooo much!! :)

Hi Pamela

Thank you so much for this website. I am currently doing a PhD in Vaccine Immunology at the University of Oxford. For the past few years I have had so much fear and really struggled with constantly being anxious and now I am writing my thesis and cannot allow those fears to take over anymore. Thank you for these verses for they have strengthened me and also reminded me of God’s promises for me. They have also reminded me that we should not fear man.

Thank you and God bless
